Best Looking Serve

Who do you think has the best looking serve?

I like Patrick Rafter's serve a lot, especially his topspin and kick serves. I think Patrick Rafter has one of the best serves when he was on tour. He has a short backswing technique which really simplifies the racket preparation and cuts down on errors in serves. Besides, it's nice to see someone serve and volley. It's not so common to see that these days in the ATP or WTA tour.

Rostagno!

Definitely, D. Rostagno (Flying into the court!)
Richard Krijcek's form isn't bad.
I like Pat Cash's
Don't care much about Michael Stich's but there are many who think his was beautiful.

BBecker, Goran's serve motions aren't my favorite.

How come I like only Krajicek's serve, not Stich's?
But I love Stich's game-S.M.O.O.T.H.

I guess it's because Stich's serve motion looks 'classical'. Didn't look like there was a lot of dynamic forward movement that I like to see in his serve motion. But still he could hit over 130mph?

of the present players i love safin (especially his second serve) but i would say that the best serve (in my opinion) goes to ljubicic, he has one of the fastest out there and ive heard many pros say (after playing him) that they just cant read his serve, the most impresive was hearing this from nalbandian (one of the great returners), i think its the best cus if u cant tell where its goin then u cant hit it.
ps i like the thing that roddick does with his left hand its so fancy

mark philippoussis's serve isn't that great looking, but it sure makes a mean sound. His serve at wimby sounded like a thunder. It was probably his grunt, which adds to the effect.

Sampras, Ancic, Stich, and, you know what, Guga had a pretty poetic looking motion too... a little goofy looking but smooth...

Lendl and Edberg should both be mentioned here. Outside of the initial 'hitch' before the backswing, Ivan's motion is textbook perfect. I suppose that's what comes when you develop a game based on textbooks and mathematical computation instead of touch and talent. It's effectiveness only punctuates it. Edberg's serve, however, is a thing of beauty to behold. The toss, particularly on second serves, is so far behind his head you wonder how he can come close to making contact with the ball. He does, however, and before you know it he's four feet from the net. An elegant, if unorthodox, serve. Cheers!

I think Sharapova copied Guga's serve motion.

I say Patrick Rafter's. Everything about his serve is so synchronized. I like Safin's serves too, but his motion cracks me up everytime... it's the laziest form ever. He kinda just arch the **** out of his back, and swats it... I like that though, it's not the prettiest but the **** goes in.

Goran Ivanisevic hits the ball when it's perfectly stationary. I've never seen better timing on a serve than Goran's.

sampas, just stands strait, knees bent, and arms stait, unloads.. bam!!!

Are we talking about Pete Sampras, here? (Or Sampas...whichever.)

The guy's motion was so extreme, angular, and contortional (ought to be a word) that it verged on yoga. Attempts to duplicate the Sampras serve have resulted in more lower back problems than mankind's entire history of trying to lift heavy objects from the floor without bending the knees. His service motion was what happened when you combined McEnroe with plyometric conditioning and gymnastics. Guy's back foot pointed at the rear fence, for God's sake. Freaky ####. Do not attempt at home.

That is true, but still, Goran's motion is kinda funny (just love it  ).

I saw some Tanner's videos of his serve, and he hits the ball at the very end of the toss going up, and he could crank serves at 130 mph with a wooden racquet ;)

It is a batsman in cricket taking evasive action against a ball directed at his B*lls :) BTW, I am a big fan of Goran

BYRON SHELTON...oh my God, was poetry in motion to me. Little known African-American tennis player who upset Stich at Wimbledon one year, played serve and volley, and had a CANON of a serve...problem was, he wasn't very good at anything else, also his gait was a bit stiff (kind of like Medvedev/Kafelnikov).

Michael Stich is the obvious...albeit generic...choice.

Jared Palmer not only looked a lot Stich, he also had a beautiful service motion like Stich...not quite as effective, but still beautiful nonetheless.

Stefan Edberg was like watching a Greek statue unfold, the lines were classic, and the story they told historic.

Sergi Bruguera...haha, just kidding. Who brought out the skunk on that one? Pee-you...the one shot I couldn't stand to watch him hit.

Sampras of course. I also like Lendl's motion and how he cradled his racquet before the toss. Too cool. Goran had the funkiest starting motion.

I liked watching Enqvist's old motion, before 1999 or so. He'd smoothly rock back and forth, down and up, and it was very efficient too... he used to average 10 aces per match before his shoulder surgery.

Did I forget Guy Forget? Yup, I forgot the Guy Forget. When Forget served, French wine rain downed from the rafters and it was a glorious thing.

I like Feliciano Lopez serve motion, It´s complex but precise and he uses his entire body in a relaxed way to obtain lots of power and spin-
