BLX Blade 98 - coming out anytime soon?

Has anyone heard if and when the Wilson BLX Blade 98 (update to the KBlade 98) will be coming out?

Currently demoing the KBlade 98 and really liking a lot of things about it (see my impressions on other post). I figure it won't go on sale until the BLX version comes out...hoping it will be soon.

My local dealer said that it wouldn't be anytime soon, maybe even Spring of next year. Of course he is wanting people to buy now and not wait. I would guess around November, but that is a total guess.

This racquet has been out a while, so you may be able to get a good demo at a good price. That's what I did.

Of course...the only Wilson racquet I'm interested in, they aren't going to put out for another 7 months :roll:.

Out of curiosity have you tried the BLX pro tour, it's a bit heavier and smaller headsize but i found everything i liked in the 98 to be better in the pro tour (though i hit really hard and flat so i prefer flex in the racquet's i use).

I haven't tried the BLX Pro Tour yet...not sure why it didn't show up on my 'demo radar' (332 swingweight, 18 mains, or 24mm width, or didn't like the previous version...probably one of those). Although as the KBlade has shown, you can get some good spin with 18 mains and the swingweight/width aren't too far off from my 'wants'. May need to take a closer look at this racquet. Thanks.

I think this is a new Blade BLX, it seems to have some pink or purple in it.
Look on the right, there seems there is the gold BLX logo.

The nBlade is 10x better than the [K]Blade. The [K]Blade is likely to be twice as good as the BLX Blade.

As for it's new cosmetics... The Wilson Blade line of rackets just turned into a massive chick stick! :O I find it funny how they covered it up with black tape instead of painting over it.

The nBlade is 10x better than the [K]Blade. The [K]Blade is likely to be twice as good as the BLX Blade.

As for it's new cosmetics... The Wilson Blade line of rackets just turned into a massive chick stick! :O I find it funny how they covered it up with black tape instead of painting over it.

That's because it IS a chick stick. The highest-profile pros who currently use the Blade are the Williams sisters.

Well its defo a Wilson stick. That probably the new blade but they just put pink on her one so people wouldnt know and to create speculation. Same as blacking rackets out just a different method, with the aim not to show the final pj

Good find, while it may be a new racquet that may come out shortly I do not think it is for the Blade line, the racquet in your picture is 16x19 which IMO is a no no for the blade line. Maybe the PJ is ok but the players is trying a new string pattern? idk, just guessing.

Well, maybe it's a fake pj, but I saw quite a few players hitting with it at RG.

Maybe it is a Blade pink or maybe it is just a pj instead of blacking out....I doubt it though, you never see companies do that.

The K Blade 98 is only 3 pts headlight, according to TW's specs. Does that make it feel a little more "boardy"? Or, with the weight being a little lower, can you still generate good racket head speed?

With the tight string pattern, is the racket powerful enough?
