Clash 100 vs Clash 100 UL

Was using old and very light Dunlop Aerogel 4d racquets strung at 48 with Weisscannon Scorpion for 10 years. Moved to original Clash 100 and liked it, but found it too heavy to get it around to hit my western forehand after 45 minutes. Has anyone switched from Clash 100 to Clash 100 UL (specs similar to my old Dunlop's)? If so how did you like it? Comfortable? Also please, what strings and tension did you use?

Did try a UL Demo strung at 55 with Sensation plus. Still trying it out but thought it was somewhat under powered, but still felt good. No doubt the strings. Will continue to give it whirl until I take back. Update later.

Bought two! Loaded one with Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution 1.25 @ 48lbs. Not exactly satisfied, again underpowered. Then adjusted with KPE 1.25 in mains @ 48 and TNT2 @ 48 in crosses and this provided a good feel but still not getting pop I need. With the second put NXT OS 16 in Mains @ 48 and Lazerfibre Native Tour 1.30 @ 44. Felt stiff but played well. All in all still feel like have not found the right combo. If anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. thx

I demoed all the Clash models except for the UL and ended up liking the Clash 100 light the best. I liked the 98 and the standard 100 but the light gave me the best control of my shots.

Strung 100UL with good old NRG2. May be a bit too powerful, but should be able to rein it in with higher head speed due to super low swingweight. Will report back.

Thanks sir. Love NRG2... 16 or 17 and what tension? Daughter used NRG 17 in Babalot Drive Z/Lite's entirely in junior and college strung at 57#. Currently I have one WUL Clash strung with NXT OG at 48 mains and 52 crosses and the other at 50# using Isospeed control. Both hard to hold into court with big hitters, so still using old Dunlops 4d's with Weisscannon @ 48 to stay competitive. My driving objective is to relieve shoulder pain without sacrificing control. We shall see. So appreciate if you have more thoughts. Regards

NRG2 16G string at 52 lbs for a little more longevity (hopefully).

Comfort on shoulder was good (SLAP tear in my dominant shoulder/Arm) and light weight is still a nice change from 315g racquets I used to play with.

Had some trouble keeping the ball in play for a bit and had to adjust for more spin, which is probably a good thing - will likely switch to a hybrid after this breaks to rein it in a little.

Didn’t actually have too much trouble with blocks honestly, which was my initial concern. Hand is probably 500g+ so losing 50g from the racket and a more even balance on the UL probably kept it a bit stable, but time will tell I suppose.

Questioning whether I should have gone with the clash 108 for the higher stability of the OS. But liking the UL so far.

Thanks! Might have to go the NRG2 route, but will have to order some sets. Currently Isospeed Control 16 @ 50lbs in mains and Laserfibre Native Tour 16 @ 50lbs in crosses. Not bad but still little harsh for shoulder. Also just strung second racquet up this evening with WeissCannon Expolsiv @ 55. Will try out tomorrow and then post later.

Hit on the ball machine for an hour, still liking the multi even though I know the racquet is "meant" for a poly or hybrid. Stiffness is pretty similar to the Clash 100L that I tried, so I don't think the actual frame is any different between the 100, L, and UL (and likely the difference between the L and UL is extra weight near the handle), even though TW says so on their testing (other sites have differing numbers) - Advantage is that the UL is a bit cheaper at $199 and can be customized more.

Might try to add a little tape to make it slightly head heavy due to low swingweight.

Interesting about adding weight, please let me know how it turns out. Redid Racquet #2 with Laserfibre Native in crosses at 50 and Weisscannon Exposiv at 55 in mains. Not bad but still capacity for trampolining and loss of control. However, does not hurt my arm much which is part of the objective. Giving both #1 and #2 another try tommorow with big topspin player. Should be interesting and we shall see!

My wife switched to the clash 108 from the pure aero lite...she really likes the clash 108 but wishes to try the 100l..and maybe the 100ul...

Racquet #2 with Laserfibre Native in crosses at 50 and Weisscannon Exposiv at 55 in mains was pretty good. Not too much tramp and was somewhat soft. Trick was not to try to overhit. Getting a some new strings from TW, but not Ln or WC. One setup I am planning to try is RPM @ 50 and Gamma Glide at 55. Someone told me that was the bomb. Seems somewhat similar to my current setup for racquet #2 however will try on racquet #1 for comparison. Will post results after I give it a whirl.

Did string up Racquet #1 with RPM in mains at 50 and Gamma Glide at 55. Had lot of control, but of course less power than Racquet #2 that has Laserfibre and Weisscannon. What I reallty want is somewhere between the current setups I have in the racquets. So thinking the Goldilocks choice could be having Glide or Isospeed Control at 53 pounds in the crosses and RPM in the main at 50.

Hi Sir, I consider buying my wife Clash 100UL since I am afraid that stiff PD super lite 2013 (255 gram unstrung) will hurt her arm.
In case it is not suitable for her, I plan to use it by adding weight to increase its weight to 280-295 gram (unstrung). WIll adding weight make it similar to 100L or 100 version ?
Thank you.
