Crisp Poly?

What's your favorite "crisp" poly?

Not soft, not mushy, but also not hard and not muted or board-like?

Crisp, as in lively with some but not too much pop.

Kirschbaum Pro-Line II is very crisp. I actually was surprised (and disappointed) that it felt like a crisp synthetic gut, quite frankly.

So I guess if you're looking for a poly that doesn't feel like a poly, the Pro-Line II is perfect. But I just didn't like the feel overall. I think it would be what you're looking for.

Otherwise, I've read good things about Pro Hurricane and ALU Power that might meet your criteria as well.

There is no poly as crisp as weisscannon silverstring in the 1.20 size!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but Silverstring isn't what I would call "crisp." It's my absolute favorite poly, but it's not as crisp as Pro-Line II.

Silverstring has tons of feel, amazing touch, controlled power, and lots of spin. But it ain't crisp.

Signum Pro Megaforce is crispy, but Unique Tourna Poly Big Hitter is crispier. Agreed that Silverstring is rather plush for a copoly, not crispy.

If price is no option, I still like Luxilion Big Banger ALU Power, but I haven't tried toooo many co-polys yet. I haven't tried one I didn't like yet.

IMHO, a crisp, and zingy poly (similar to a prince duraflex, or something like this) would be Topspin Poly Polar or Gosen Polylon SP.

Big ace or cyberflash are not even close to being as crisp as weisscannon. I wonder what some of you think crisp is, if you dont think silverstring 1.20 is not one of the most crisp strings out there.

Maybe it has something to do with the tension you string at, i am stringing at 68 lbs. The silverstring is more crisp than any poly i have tried. By the way i strung other polys at that same high tension+ none were as crisp.

I wouldn't call Cyberflash that crisp either.

My vote goes to Kirschbaum Touch Turbo. If only this string doesn't lose its resiliency very quickly, this would have been my favorite string.

i've yet to try silverstring and have found cyberflash/power, big ace, big hitter... all too mushy in my search for an ALU replacement. can you compare silverstring (sorry if you've been asked before) to ALU? thanks

I would say that silverstring in the 1.20 size is more crisp than alu. I was going between alu power flouro, alu power+ silverstring. I am using a prince speedport black+ it is hard to tame the power out of it.

Both of the alu strings worked for getting good control, but with the price+ the fact that they only played well for 3 hours or so was dissapointing. I also tried the big banger original which was real mushy, but it worked well for control+ it lasted longer than the alu.

It seemed like i was limited with only lower powered polys i could use in this racquet+ after a lot of experimenting i settled on the silverstring.

After using it for the last 4 months i have to say it is excellent. Great solid feel, but still comfortable, excellent spin+ power with control. Also it is the most crisp feeling string you can find. That is why i wonder when some say they dont think it is crisp, if it isnt i guess i have no idea what they mean by crisp.

But i do want to note that the 1.20 is more crisp+ better than the thicker gauge. Also i am using it at high tension, maybe at the lower tensions it isnt so crisp feeling.

The Silverstring 1.20mm is the only poly that I use that works well at a higher tension. If "crisp" means bite on the ball, this string has it. Definitely more control than Big Ace (1.22) and easier on the arm than Cyberflash (which does not work well at higher tensions). It is a unique poly and a very good string.
