What makes one poly very stiff feel and other poly more softer feel ? if base material is same. is it additional material that they or you guys add into the string ?

Hi Diadem,
Can you give us Diadem's planned approach to entering the racquet market? Are you trying to lure the hit-and-giggle crowd. Is your target us weekend hacks, or is there going to be more of a focus on the crowd of advanced players? Or all of the above?
I think that it would be interesting to hear if you are committed to becoming a big player in the racquet market or, if you plan to use the racquet market as a branding/advertising vessel to promote Diadem's string products, or both, or other.

Good question.
Our goal was to create rackets that could reach the weekend warriors, juniors, college and pro level players. We are starting with a very small opening line. 2 molds, 3 models, we feel with the specs and playability of the rackets that we can reach our target market with our initial offerings.
Rackets will help us start being able to secure higher ranked players and get some real brand awareness.
The goal for us was to always become a full service brand. strings, grips, rackets, bags, etc. We are steadily moving in the right direction. The rackets will give our team the ability to be on the ground a lot more and will be getting both the sticks & strings in players hands.

Are the Pro Touch and Pro Feel overgrips only available in white? If so, you should really consider making them in the teal color. I think it would be a good marketing move to have people associate your brand with teal.

Good idea! We would eventually like to.
As some of you may have felt, the playing characteristics can be quite different in colored grips compared to their white counter part, as the coloring process can alter the tackiness, sweat absorption, feel, etc.
We are very proud of our new Pro Touch overgrip. Hopefully we will be offering free samples with any Diadem order on TW soon.

Always need a trap door! On that particular frame , no, it will not be hollow.

OK. If not hollow, will the material inside the handle be easy to remove? (I hope it isn't silicone!)
(Weight inside the handle would suggest either racquet vibration dampening or head light balance or both.)

I don't know about that. They are yet to discuss price.
@monfils is my homeboy might be happy with such a deal at 50 cents a racquet. It's amazing what Volume Discounts can be achieved these days especially when it involves products that are new to market

We did try adding aluminum fibers to one of our strings...the string ended up looking like a bunch shards of soda cans protruding from the string...now that is what they should call ALU Rough!
We do have a round poly coming out. Flash. It will be more durable than our Solstice Power or Elite XT. It will be a softer, livelier poly, we just can't seem to get on the muted string bus. But hey a smooth round poly, great for hybrids, under $10...we must be reading these boards way too much!! Ask and you shall receive!

A question about Diadem Evolution -- Why the opaque "foil pack" type packaging? I ask because I'm only going to use half a pack immediately in a hybrid setup and was wondering if the original packaging is designed to protect some specific property of the string. If I only use half a package (20 feet), would I essentially being trashing the remaining 20 feet if I don't use it within a specifc amount of time?

The main reason we did it was because we wanted it to stand out and differentiate it from our polys. As the string comes in reels as well, it does not need to be in a sealed packaging to retain any of it's magical powers.
We have redesigned our packaging for all strings and you will see a roll out of the new packing mid to late summer. *Actually SP16 is currently already in its new packaging.

You guys wouldn't happen to be working on a soft, shaped co-poly with high tension maintenance, would you?
Something a little less firm than Elite XT and with better tension maintenance?

That is literally how we would describe Solstice Power. SP was rated by USRSA as one of the softest and best tension maintenance strings on the market. I'll look for the graph on it and post it (if i can figure out how to post images, my last post trying to show the new packaging didn't work out to well....)
Give Solstice Power a try if you haven't already.

I haven't tried Solstice Power. I was just a little freaked out by the score of 60 in the Playability Duration area in the Tennis Warehouse review, so I've been hesitant.
But the USRSA says it holds tension well, so I'll give it a go. What tension do you prefer it at? I was thinking of putting it as a hybrid setup, as I usually do.

Ya, i'm sure you aren't the only one that would give that a double take, we were quite shocked when we saw that rating.
I played Solstice Power 16L at 55 in my Pure Aero VS (slightly weighted at 10 & 2), but now that i'm using the Diadem Elevate (stock, at the moment) I've dropped it down to 52.
Many players using it and especially people on this board, swear by it at lower tensions, I think this string is ideal (mid 40s - to low 50s).
Which is taking a lot for me to say, as It's coming from someone who started playing pro blend at 12 in a 6.1 prostaff, because I hated stringing racquets haha, then fast forward 8 years to playing PK Redondo with 1st gen polys at 65-66 lbs, up to 72 down in high altitude. I literally cringe just thinking about how my shoulder endured that utter disregard for it's well being! Thank goodness my arm is still intact! Luckily 8-10 years ago I started lowering my tensions.
Here is a chance for me to plug another Diadem product!! Evolution! Rated by USRSA and was featured in Tennis Industry Magazine as one of top strings ever tested at #13 of 202. We've already had a few medium to big retail shops switch to it as their go to cross for hybrid format, based on performance, durability, and price point for their customers.
But as you can see my past string history, asking me about a cross string is like asking your optometrist about your heart condition. I've played stiff kevlars and polys, most of my life, i've switched to soft polys and love it! I never play hybrid and hope to not have to for another 10 years.
One thing to be aware of, If you hybrid with a cheaper syn gut or multi, it can be tricky as our sharp edges can rip through some crosses much quicker than others (especially higher level players). Part of the reason for creating Evolution was to create a monofilament that could with stand the test of time with Solstice and let players get the full life out of the strings.
That being said I think Solstice Power / Evolution hybrid would be a good place to start!
