Dimitrov's new coach - Radek Štěpánek

This information comes from the media in my country. Štěpánek will in Grigor's team again meet Andre Agassi, with whom he coached Djokovic in the 2018 season.

Translation:
Radek Štěpánek joins the second coaching engagement. According to Sport's sources, he will become a coach of Grigor Dimitrov, the champion of the WTF 2017 and today up to the 46th player in ATP rankings. In the Bulgarian team he will meet again with André Agassi, who has been acting as a mentor and big tournament advisor since the fall. Stepanek should lead Dimitrov already in the upcoming clay event in Rome.

Thirteen months after the end of collaboration with Novak Djokovic, Radek Stepanek returns to the world of great tennis. And again, men with great reputations will help. Grigor Dimitrov, the 27-year-old champion of the 2017 ATP Finals, was third in the ranking after his triumph. However, in the current season of injuries to his shoulder, ATP's ranking declined to 46th, and announced a few days ago that he was terminating three years of collaboration with Daniel Vallverdu. The successor of Venezuelan coach will be Štěpánek. The Czech legend was recommended by his friend Andre Agassi.

With Agassi, Štěpánek had already been in a team for four months, taking care of Novak Djokovic. However, in a turbulent era when the Serbian ruler was getting out of his elbow wounds and not listening to his men's advice too much, this community was broken. But Štěpánek's friendship - Agassi lasted, an eightfold Grand Slam champion, for example, arrived at a magnificent Prague bachelor party last year.

Dimitrov hired Agassi last October. The 49-year-old American accompanied him this year at the Australian Open, where he advanced to the fourth round. However, Agassi has many other activities and does not want to be a traditional travel coach who has traveled for many weeks a year around the world. Until now, this function has been held by Vallverdu, now it will be to Štěpánek.

He never concealed his intention to return to the coaching circles. "I have to get an offer that interests me and chemistry will work with the player. I didn't see the people I worked with as a service. What I see today around me, 99.9 percent of players and players today take coaches, fitness and physics just as a service. I never had it, so we and my team could be together for twenty years and I still have a great relationship with everyone. That's why I don't want to have the feeling that I'm just a service. I can't do it well, ”he said in March for Sport.

In the same interview he explained his approach to training. “My coaches gave me a hundred percent, they were there for me day and night. It was not just about backhand and forehand, but about life as such. And this is what I want to be as a coach for someone else. Everybody can train strokes today, but the biggest differences are somewhere else. A tennis player can influence something 24 hours a day. Whether it's performance, thinking or emotion. It is one big pyramid that has to be put together and it is necessary to constantly improvise. That's why I say it's very important where the player will let you go. It's not that you want to keep control of the player and tell him to brush his teeth. This is by no means the case. But you have to know a man outside the court. ”

The alliance of Štepánek with Dimitrov, the great name nicknamed Baby Federer, is due to be announced in the coming days.

Ladies, beware!
But is Radek gonna coach him in tennis?
Now that's one thing Grigor doesn't need to learn from him!
an old interview:
“When I was young, I liked very much the young girls,” said the interviewer. “Sometimes I got distracted. So I'd like to know if you get distracted, too.”
“Let me think about it,” the No. 15 seed said with a laugh. “That was the greatest thing I've heard, man. Oh, wow… I obviously have a soft spot for that. (...)"

Interesting move. Let's see if Radek can instil some of his old fighting spirit into him. If he can't do it then who can?
Next up Pepe will be on the team; Djoko rejects.

For years, I thought Daniel Vallverdu was an Andy Murray groupie who found himself lucky enough to become part of his inner circle. Then all of a sudden, he was being called a 'coach'.

So basically, Grigor's team = Djokovic previous team or so. While I believe he needs to do something to break off that slump he's been in for the last 18 months or so, he needs to be healthy. It's no secret he's been having on/off shoulder problems for a while now, so regardless of who is coaching him, he won't make progress until he's fully recovered.

Say goodbye to Nicole. Grigor
I believe they already split last winter.

Vallverdu and Murray met in Spain when Murray went to play there as a junior. They became close friends and Dani eventually joined Andy's team as his practice partner and unofficial coach. They worked well together until they fell out over the issue of Andy hiring Mauresmo to replace the departed Lendl (Vallverdu and Jez Green, Andy's trainer, were both very close to Lendl). Vallverdu departed Murray's team (as did Green who is now Zverev's trainer) and has since coached Berdych (limited success) and, until recently, Dimitrov. He at least guided Grigor to winning his 2 biggest titles (2017 WTF and 2017 Cincinnati).
