Djokovic now has the 2nd highest tournament winning % of tournaments he entered at 31.78% just behind Laver in the Open era. He is well ahead of Nadal and Federer in this category. As long as he passes Federer in Slams won and stays within one or two of Nadal’s Slam titles, his GOAT resume will be pretty solid with all the other records he has (Weeks at #1, Year-end #1, Head-to-head dominance against Nadal/Federer, Masters titles won, Big titles won etc.) and the balanced performance on all surfaces. It would be nice if he finishes #1 in Slams won also, but he can arguably be the GOAT even without that.

If he can do even a third of those, it will be a very successful year. Add in September win the USO which may be the 19th, 20th, 0r 21st!

Really impressive, just to add if he wins Miami he will stand alone as the record holder with 7 wins, most of any man or woman, tied with Agassi right now.

Come to think of it, I'd tell Novak to let AA share that podium. :D The only other tournament records he holds or shares are at Los Angeles, San Francisco/San Jose and Washington. Miami is the only big one there.

A decade ago, he hadn't even been spent a week at number two, let alone number one, now he has tied for most weeks at number one, and next Monday starts becomes the longest reigning world number one in history.
You're wrong @Hitman, Nole became World No. 2 for the first time after AO 2010, when Nadal didn't defend his title. Djoker was also in second place during the autumn part of the 2010 season, when he was ahead of Federer.

When Nole became the World No. 1 for the first time in July 2011, it never occurred to me that in 10 years it will have a record in the number of weeks in 1st place. It's amazing what Novak has accomplished, he's one of the most successful Grand Slam champions and the longest reigning World No. 1.(y)

Checking with all of you here. Sorry haven't been able to post as much due to personal and professional commitments.

Was super thrilled with Novak's Oz open win. As always I'm rooting for our champ to go the distance and win more slams.

Also this forum has become too detrimental and negative and I find it very repulsive to go through garbage posts from newbies. So staying away. Will probably hop back during Wimbledon. I'm hoping he will be a lock!

Djokovic to play Miami, Monte Carlo and Belgrade next.

18-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has revealed his partial schedule for the 2021 spring season.
The world no.1 will start with the Miami Open, to be played from March 24 to April 4.

The ATP Tour will then move to Europe. The Monte-Carlo Masters, the first of three ATP Masters 1000 tournaments played on clay, will take place from April 11 to April 18. Novak has won two titles at the Monte-Carlo Country Club (2013, 2015). He fell to Daniil Medvedev 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 in 2019 quarters. Last year, the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The ATP Tour returns to Belgrade for the first time since 2012. The Serbia Open, an ATP 250 clay-court event, will be held from April 19 to April 25 at the Novak Tennis Center. The tournament relocated from Budapest, Hungary. Novak has won the title in his hometown twice (2009, 2011).

Miami...
I thought he was going to come back just for the clay season. The schedule was actually published on the official website.
Will Djoko play in Madrid and Rome before RG? It would be a very demanding schedule.
Let’s wait.

The Heavyweight champion playing Miami is interesting, guess he really want to get those weeks in at number one, as he is planning on missing Madrid and Rome. I am sure Novak will not push himself too much in Miami, he will play the matches if he is 100%, if not he will pull out. He has plenty of time from Miami to RG in case he needs it.

Huh? I'm sure we'll see him in Rome.

Didn't expect him to play MC but it does make sense since he lives there. Playing Miami is unnecessary but I don't expect him to give his best since he wants to peak in slams only, so I assume he plays it to not get rusty only.
