Do you wait in line at most restaurants when picking up an online order?

When I order my meal online most places I've been have an area for online orders where you just tell them your name and you pick it up. Today I was rather annoyed that I ordered a meal and could see the bag with my name on it behind the counter and they made me wait in line with lunch crowd ordering their meal. There were a few people who didn't know what they wanted and were carrying on a long conversation and I waited like 10 or 15 minutes watching my food get cold.

When I got my meal I complained to the cashier and then the manager. I've never done this before, but I'm tempted to leave a negative review online.

What do you think?

Bad system or bad service, that would definitely bother me, but that’s the risk you take when ordering pickup. Was it a hot meal?

I wouldn’t leave a negative review based on one small incident like that.

Hope you didn't leave a tip
I did when I placed the order. If I hadn't already ordered it I wouldn't have.

It just seemed silly. What bothered me a lot too was the indifference from the cashier. She was looking straight ahead and acted like an NPC in a videogame. No empathy at all. She just looked straight ahead past me. When I said "does it make sense that I'd have to wait here for over 10 minutes when someone could just hand me the bag?" She just said "ok". Everyone else in line was placing an order.

It also was a hot meal and some of the food was soggy and much worse than if I'd been able to pick it up right away.
