Effect of heavier balls on light racquets

I played with my usual Thursday partner today and he had a lot of control
problems today which was apparently pretty frustrating. I brought a can of
the new Dunlop McEnroe balls (I bought a six-pack of them a few months
ago but haven't played much due to vacation time and knee problems from
running) and we used them. He bought a six-pack as well so we'll be using
these for a few weeks.

The new Dunlop balls are heavier than your typical Wilsons and feel like they
are more heavily pressurized than your standard Wilson ball. They don't feel
like Tretorns but bounce a little higher and kick a little more when you add
topspin.

I use a very heavy racquet and didn't need to make any adjustments to my
game but he uses a Pure Drive and had control problems and said that the
ball felt a lot heavier on the racquet and that he might switch to a heavier
racquet for a while when using the Dunlop balls.

I was wondering if other players using the Pure Drive have run into this.

I've considered the Babolets given the amount of discussion on this board
over it but will probably just stick with what works for me right now. I put
in a wanted ad for another one and hope someone has one to sell. If not,
then I will mod the grip on a 4 3/8s model that our daughter doesn't use
anymore.

Thats when you use lead tape, once you feel its somewhat unstable. just add a few grams of lead starting at 3 and 9 oclock.
