Looking to replace my DR100 with something that has similar power, comfort, and launch angle.

I will demo the new EZONE 100 (but noticed it is a slightly more open string pattern than the DR). Looking for additional recommendations.

What grip size do you need, I have an L4?
No thanks. Looking to buy a few of a new racquet. So looking for suggestions to test. I've also played with the pure aero 2019, but found the launch angle to be too high.

Mark Sansait (RealTennis Youtuber) swapped over from the DR98 to the new Diadem Nova V3 Tour. I haven't hit with it yet but do have the V3 Standard and Plus versions waiting for a hit. May be worth looking into

The newest Pure Aero has a tighter string pattern than the older Pure Aeros and some other tweeners on the market, so you might want to consider that one. Percept 100 could be another alternative, but I think that one would offer a bit less power than your Dr 100.

I play with the 2022 version of the Ezone 100 and I think the string pattern is quite tight in the sweet spot area (For being a 16 X 19), far tighter than most other “power” racquets. My friend has the DR 100 and I think they are very similar.

Thanks! That's very helpful.

Just curious; why do you think the current 2022 version has a more open string pattern ?

I noticed that on the several websites, they don’t seem to show the real string pattern in the images of the racquet. On the Tennis Warehouse website, they are not showing real strings ..

The actual string pattern is VERY different to the one shown in the pictures.

The DR has one skip hole when stringing the mains. The EZONE 100 2022 skips two holes on the head of the racquet and one on the throat. So that indicates a slightly more open pattern.

Ok.
If you can demo it, maybe that is best but I am 99% certain that it plays very, very similar to the DR version. I have tried both and could not tell any difference, especially with regards to launch angle. I personally hate racquets with a high launch angle. I bought the Vcore 100 and after two months I sold as the launch angle made me miss way too much in matches. With the Ezone 100 I can hit naturally as the launch angle suits me far better.

maybe at that one string? You’re making this too complicated. Ezone 100 is clearly your best bet unless you’re looking to go down the rabbit hole.

The Ezone 100, also the current model, is well known for being one of the most controlled power 300 g racquets.

FX 500, Ultra 100, Pure Drive, they all have more open patterns than the Ezone 100.

Blade 100 v8?

As others have alluded to, the newest Ezone 100 combines both power and control elements. The stiffness and beam width make it pretty powerful, but the stringing pattern is quite dense in the center and might actually rival some 18x19 / 18x20 racquets.

Therefore I wouldn't worry about its stringing pattern if you want control - what you'll want to check is that you're OK with the new stiffness and beam width combination.
