Wow, have we been watching the same matches? Nadal took Fed to the 5th set at Wimby last year - very nearly beating him, something that Fed failed to do on the Parisian dirt.

You jumped the gun, disqualified. Look at the original post date.

After watching Fed this year and factoring how much better Nadal gets every year.

LMAO! That was some old, old thread! Who dug it up again?

Good question. My guess, among other things, it's some guy who can't let go.

The prediction is still not wrong. Although if anyone asked me this question now two years after I created this thread and after yesterdays match I'd vote Nadal to win Wimby before Fed won the French. Time, intangibles that have made themselves clear today and increasingly slow playing conditions have change my mind. Additionally, I believe Fed like Sampras, Borg and McEnroe when at the top, is suffering from some form of burn-out and is not working as hard he was. Maybe it was the Mono, maybe he's content, who really knows. Nadal clearly wants it more at this time.

If I was a betting man, I would be on Nadal at this year’s Wimbledon.

Just looking at the sheer numbers, hasn't Fed been demolished at Roland Garros? I believe I seem to remember Rafa going 5 with Fed on his best surface at Wimbledon...

To me, the choice is clear, Rafa is closing the gap way faster than Fed...

One should take into consideration when this was first posted, 2006. Between then and now who predicted Fed would appear to have lost motivation to compete in the French Open a Grand Slam Final? Fed's only 26.........and it appears he's lost motivation, sad. Maybe it's the mono, could be the money, could be Nadal has just broken him down on Clay. Who really knows..........? Fed does, but we'll likely never know the entire story.

Vote "YES" if you think Fed's chances are better of ever winning the French than Nadal's chance of ever winning Wimbledon. Or vote "NO" if you think Nadal's chances are better winning ever Wimbledon than Fed's chances are ever winning the French.

Omala punde baadu, can't you get at least 1 prediction correct?

Listen, Captain Obvious. Federer's chances of winning the French are better than Nadal's chances of winning the US Open. Federer's game is well suited for clay while Nadal's topspin game would be neutralized by the low bouncing grass.

Lavade, are you drunk? Since when has the U.S open been using low bouncing grass? Otha!

The only conclusion I draw is, Fedfans being cocky nothing new. They have been being cocky for last 13 years at least.

This is so silly. Rafa played Federer close this year. In 4 sets. And he would have had a good chance against Djokovic.

Federer cannot play on clay at this point. And let's be honest he cannot beat Rafa on clay. He didn't take a set this year and even if one set went his way, that's different than beating Rafa on clay imo.

Who knew then the grass and balls had slowed conditions more than clay? What's your prediction for who will finish with more GS's truck driver? I'll stick with Fed.

Andfor ... truck driver? LOL :)

I think both Nadal & Djokovic will finish with more GS's than Federer. Between those 2 though, I can't tell who will finish on top. We might be able to tell in a year or two in my opinion.

Easy guess there. Given I did not understand your (hindi?), mine was a light hearted insult.

I believe Medvedev will get at least one GS each of the next two years with another new comer also stepping up. It's going to be close.

Remember how easy it was going to be for Woods to pass Nicklus? Given the big 3's ages, 12-24 months may be a shorter time than it appears. New faces will emerge.

A big no currently nadal winning Wimbledon has more chance than Federer winning rg. Infact now nadal winning Us open is atleast equally likely as federer winning Wimbledon if not more.

Andfor ... those were curse words albeit very bad ones :-D Not really meant to insult anyone but in Chennai (Major city in South India) these words are used in almost every conversation among friends. Those were not Hindi words but Tamil :)

Agreed with the rest of your post :)
