Federer Hitting Again

What keeps him going imo is the fact that he absolutely embarrassed supposed top 10 player and IW champion Norrie at Wimby, plus beat solid top 40 guys like Cilic, Sonego, and Mannarino. Plus the FAA loss at Halle (took the first set then died physically) doesn’t look as bad at all.

His level even with WOAT tier stamina and explosive movement was still good enough to go toe to toe with pretty much everyone. He has a level of talent far beyond the paygrade of all but about 6 players on tour.

Fraud could have made the final at Wimby if he could have sustained his level match to match. But, like Murray, I think he has little chance of sustaining his level for any number of matches in a row and will eventually end up a sitting duck as he progresses in a tournament. Needs to bribe tournament organizers and players to somehow withdraw/retire/forfeit every other match I think.

I am afraid it is all our wishful thinking that he will be a factor on the tour again. I would really want to see him back in full strength (for a 40 YO) and hitting it, but....

ball machine Federer? hmm, something is not right
Come on! He's trying to come back; step by step. That means that he needs to start with one thing (forehand hit) at a time while his knees adjust to the movement slowly. You don't want him to get out, jump on the court and put too much pressure on his legs right of, do you?
