If Fed plays like Fed and plays with a working strategy such as not getting into a baseline slugfest with Tsonga, then I don't see why he can't beat him. Tsonga's game doesn't bother Fed per say.

Tsonga's return improved so much last year...which was the main reason he was really able to give Federer problems.
Perhaps Federer's serve will shift the balance back in his favor. And as always, he'll likely key on Tsonga's backhand.

I laugh at anyone who predicts this match with certainty. You've the greatest player of all time whose been (by his standards) slumping for a year and just lost to LLEYTON HEWITT.
On the other side you have arguably the most inconsistent top player in the last 8 years who just struggled to get by a dude who played 10 grueling sets and was recently on crutches.
This match can go literally any way and I just hope it's entertaining

I believe Roger has a decent chance of winning this one.
Federer hasn't been tested yet, he's been playing clowns. Yes, he's been playing well, but Fed usually plays well when he's relaxed. When someone starts to put on a real fight, Fed loses his consistency and sharpness and becomes ********. The occasions where Fed managed to beat someone who was playing well/better than him are very few - Wimbledon 2012 remains a good example (both SF and F), but more often than not, Fed cannot fight and play ugly for the win, its been his downfall for years, hidden by his talent, and now that he's declined, its less hidden. I can't see Fed beating Tsonga or any other top player for that matter, except maybe Ferrer.

Sure, he was embarassed , but for a different reason. At losing in such a fashion in straights inspite of playing at a very high level.
Yeah right:roll: 2013Hamburg/Gstaad-Federer has a better chance of taking out Nadal than Tsonga. Besides, if anyone is going to beat him, it's Djokovic. Be happy that Federer played this well.

Murray in his current form really doesn't have too much of a chance against Nadal. Besides, Federer is an honorable guy. He is playing better than Murray now, and would hate to lose to him. No way he is tanking this match for some frivolous reason, especially to Murray, given what happened a year ago when they played at this tournament.
