Gasquet considering skipping the French

Consider the pressure is two fold: From lasts years results, and from the French, who have hailed him world champion since he was a young boy.

Let him skip if he needs too. Otherwise he is taking someone else's spot. Someone who wants to be there.

read my post again genius, i said he physically has no excuse for being burnt out....hes been playing much less than all the other top players and they are not "burnt out," mentally perhaps although hes not going through anything that any of the other young talents aren't, so even there i would extend my opinion that he has no excuse although i did not say so before, which is what you responded to

Read the first part of your post again, genius.

ok he plays tennis all the time.....he only plays matches once or twice a week and he does not play every week, and then he practices in between, that is no different from any other touring pro and they aren't crying about being physically burnt out, so if he is burnt out physically its because he doesn't keep himself in good enough shape (like the other players) becuase he does nothing more than they do (if anything less) yet hes burnt out...can you conprehend those simple concepts my man?

Why do you always have this annoying high and mighty attitude when people question you? It really gets tiresome sometimes. You are by no means an authority on the subject in the way that you often act like you are.

My point is that not everyone is the same. People handle things very differently; physically and mentally. He needs some more time off to explore other things without his mind on tennis for a while. He shouldn't be playing just to please his fans anyway. Nothing wrong with what he is doing. It is so easy for some of you guys (I don't know about you so this is directed at people in general) to just sit at your computers and just criticize a player for whatever reason.

Maybe it is a good idea for him to take french off, to have a better chance at wimbeldon, because he doesnt do great on clay but have a better suited game for grass, maybe this break will help him have a better chance at wimbeldon, who knows, but at his current slump he needs to figure out if he really wants tennis greatness or if pro tennis isnt for him.

When I read some of the posts you guys made, I can't avoid to imagine that those are posts coming from some coach potato who can't beat a junior at the local club but has a big mouth on an anonymous forum.

C'mon guys, he is a pro, a top 10, you don't get there by luck.

You have to work your @ss off for years since you were a kid to get to that place and he is maybe simply fed up with the whole thing.

Maybe with some time off he comes back stronger, maybe not.

It would be a shame. In my book it would tell us that in nowadays tennis, right, beautiful technique is not enough.

It's like watching Agassi from 1988-1991.

The only thing Agassi-like Gasquet will ever do is retire from the sport. Please don't confuse a world class athlete with this slump-shouldered little toad.

:shock:Except for the fact that Agassi made 3 slam finals in those years.

I know. I am NOT comparing their achivements. Both had this mental pressure in their early career because so much spot lights were on if you know what I mean. Agassi's "tortured soul" comments. Agassi was writen off by early 1992 as "Gagassi" or a joke. Then some of mental pressure reduced and he was expected to lose the final against Ivanesvic. Then He won that Wimbledon out of nowhere.

This game is so mental.

Maybe he is not the one after all. It's OK to fail. I think he should still try his best. If he fails miserably, people will give up on him. Then he will finally have less mental pressure.

Like some people, I saw lots of inspiration in his game. But who knows. He picked up tennis because his parents were tennis instractors. Tennis might not be the one he wants to do for his life.

He might enjoy creating beautiful shots in tennis but not necessarily enjoy competition or winning. Some people are born warrior type. Maybe he is not. Maybe he is more of artist type. Who knows. The thing is that he won't know it for sure unless he gave it all he has.

Gasquet is such a whinning sissy. It further underlies what a weak decade of tennis this is and that is why Federer has been winning so many slams and tournaments. Sampras wishes he had it this easy. Thank God there is at least Nadal and Djokovic to make things interesting. But Djokovic came on the scene a bit too late.

Gasquet makes Djokovic look like Jim Courier when it comes to being fearless.

Imagine if a guy working a regular job called his boss and said that they felt burned out and won't be coming to work for a while. That would be a good laugh.

Don't insult whining sissies that way.
