Grommets for Head Composite Pro

I know it has been discussed that modern Prestige mid grommets will fit this frame; however, the ones I purchased (for i.Prestige mid) are a bit short. They barely come through the frame, and at the throat they don't make it through at all. When I compared my Comp Pro to my newer MG Prestige mid I noticed that the Comp Pro is actually a thicker frame from inside-out (not beam width; they do both appear to be 19mm).

So, what do you do about grommets for this frame? The original grommets were very brittle and disintegrated immediately upon stringing. All replies appreciated - Thanks!

The MG/YT Prestige Mid grommets will fit much better.

...And if the "full CAP" of said current grommet set keeps the grommet from settling into the full depth of the stringing channel of your Comp Pro, one can carefully trim off part or all of the bumper's "wings"; then it will seat better (and the grommet tubes ought to protrude through the racquet head's inner periphery wall much better).

i have a comp pro that i tried retrofitting with MG/YT Prestige mid grommets. for the most part, they make it almost all the way through the beam, but the throat grommets come up short. there are a couple of places around the frame where they are also a bit short.

Those places don't matter since the string doesn't touch the frame.

Also I feel MG/YT grommets are slightly longer than i.Prestige grommets.

i agree if there's no deflection in the stringbed (ie. when you're not hitting a ball). i haven't confirmed if that's the case when the stringbed deflects while striking the ball.

Thanks for the suggestion(s); I will try getting a set of MG/YT grommets and see if they fit better -

I did already try trimming the CAP bumper on the set that I have, and while it helped some, the fit was still not as ideal as I had hoped. Since there are not a lot of options, it looks like I will have to deal with the modern grommets and keep on playing!

Its because the CAP keeps the grommet from going down into the channel.

If you bend back the outside of the CAP, it will work but it's pretty close on the old frames.
