Will Head Graphite Director Grommets fit Composite Director?

I've got a few Composite Director frames and the grommets are crap! They are brittle, separating and falling apart, much like the notorious white grommets from the late 1980's.

Will the Head Graphite Director Grommets, which appear to have more integrity, fit the Composite Director?

The frame pattern of the Composite Director appears to be 18x21

Those should work, Bud... the mould is the same as is the drilling, IIRC.

Opposite problem for me, Bud. I've got a now-unstrung Comp Director in great shape with intact grommets; but, B-I-L's Graphite Director strips are completely shot. I don't want to string the Comp just for a lark...B-I-L wouldn't mind having HIS Graphite strung if I could find some strips; but, I don't know that it would replace his three TT Screams. If I thought he would REALLY enjoy the Comp, I'd just string that for him.

Individual grommets 'might' help the cause; but, I think they would still tend to pull into the frame too easily. I'm only willing to do SO much free work for a brother in law .

I think the best path for my Comp Directors would be to find a GD in decent shape and then cannibalize the grommets :twisted:

Yep....I'll keep my eyes open for any strips out there.
