I havent posted here in forever, but finally my time has COMEEEE!!!!!! I've followed Ljubicic through thick and thin, and you can check my post history to prove it!! I repeat HAHAHAHAHAHA! We finally got the last laugh!!!! HAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHAHAHA! Now who's the better player, Todd Martin or Ivan Ljubicic! BOOYAH SUCKERSSSS....if this doesn't validate Ljubicic's career then I dunno what does!

If you're wondering what the point of this thread is, it was simply to gloat, gloat, and gloat some more after watching Ljubicic take down Roddick at his own game, and Nadal at his own game. This was beautiful... Come on ride the ship, i know yall want to, i gotta feelin we'll be seeing a lot more Ljubicic fans on here, but I SPAT in your faces... NONE OF YOU COUNT... HAHAHAHAHA....

Thanks for reading fellas, I appreciate it...

Bilbo's always been a big Ljubbey fan, he deserves the right to gloat after so many laughed at him for being a Ljubbey fan.

Martin made two slam finals. Martin is higher in terms of greatness but I'm really happy for Ljubicic, he is certainly past his best and this is only a testament to his spirit as a battler.

Good job Lubi!!!

It was refreshing to watch a Masters final with some new people in it!!! (new as in non Fed,Nadal,Djoko)

Ljubicic is in good form and it was almost like he played for kicks. I'm glad he beat Roddick because finishing 2nd in a masters beating Nadal and Djokovic doesn't do justice. With this win it sets up Miami very nice. C'MON IVAN. YO DA MAN.

Glad to see the resurgency of several veterans, deservingly so. Nalbandian, Davydenko, and now Ljubicic.

Davydenko never went away and is a threat in every tournament except for the grasscourt swing. Nalbandian is inconsistent and didn't really have a prime. He would play 'Fed' like tennis every few years. Ljubicic is back in business and you could tell winning his 1st Masters series title meant the world to him.

No man. That he registered his account on this forum on 2009 does not mean that he follows Ljubicic since 2009.... use your head, I won't explain it.

He stated to check out his post history for evidence of his Ljubicic support, brainiac  (why I brought up the 9 month membership timeline)

Now, if he joined in 2004-06 and had a documented TT history of supporting Luby, I may be more inclined to believe him.

Sour grapes? I like Ljubicic and was happy to see him finally win a MS Shield, doofus.

Some here on TT need to get a clue

I was talking to a couple of mates the other day. And they know their **** way more than I will ever do.

And both said the final was really interesting, especially because this was a peculiar match for a Masters Series final. Nearly every single one of these in the last 4-5 years has been reduced to baseline rallying with the more consistent player winning.

But now, it was different, sure it was mainly about serve. But let's look at it this way: both have had chances to break the other and they didn't manage to do that. So, if we really want to take it as it is, Roddick can't complain too much, he was fair and square with Ivan from that point of view.

But in between those big serves there were ounces of tennis that has disappeared from the tour for quite some times, some great net playing from both, lobs here and there that were quite surprising, hilariously bad returns, some exciting points that made the ball move all over the court etc...

I enjoyed this match sooo much.
It reminded me of the Sod-Delpo match from WTF.

These are really interesting matchups for me.

Another mention should go to Ljubicic's second serve. One of my mates said that this was probably the best display of serving AT break points and serving on the 2nd that have been seen in a big title final.
At least lately.

Slam semi is far from impossible for Baghdatis, in the next 5 years alone he has 20 tries to do so.

And even if he doesn't manage to do it, should he win a single masters title he'll be at a very different level to Washington.

Rafter, to give one example, was a no one until around 24/25.
You probably would've told him to retire after 23 because he's useless and done :D.

Baghdatis was not destined to be a late bloomer. If he were he wouldnt now be 24 but with by far the best tournament (06 Aus Open) and best 6 month stretch of tennis (Jan-early July 06) of his career both being at age 20 a full 4 years ago now.

Anyway I am sick of arguing this. Who cares about Baghdatis or Washington. Baghdatis >>> Washington if that makes you happy. Martin and Ljubicic are both better players than both of them in the big picture of things easily, regardless that Wasington once beat Martin and Ljubicic once lost to Baghdatis in a huge match for both of them at a slam. I still dont think Ljubicic is automatically over Martin now is my main point.

Well maybe people would like you more if you didn't call them a doofus, doofus. :?

Maybe you should go get a clue instead of attacking other posters.

yeah, right and you are nostradamus reincarnated

Feel free to remind when Baghdatis does anything big in his career ever again (and no barely beating a crappy Federer in a best of 3 these days does not qualify, not when you then lose in the round of 16 to an aging Robredo). Baghdatis is one of these players like Safin, Nalbandian, Haas, Gasquet, and a few of the other "overrated" crowd that people on TW have a strange love affair with. Atleast guys like Safin and Nalbandian have achieved far more than Baghdatis ever will to justify some of their inflated hype though.

To do that you'll have to learn moving properly and playing some tennis rather than participating in a serve fest. Right now your best RG performance is

First of all, I've been a fan of Ljubicic since before I joined these boards. Second of all, do you have ANY idea of where Ljubicic was ranked in June of 2009? If not, I'll tell you... he was ranked (if my memory serves me right), at BEST in the 60's. He lost in the first round of the French that year, and didn't participate in Wimbledon that year through injury. So, even if I DID just become a fan of him in June 2009, that wouldn't mean I was a bandwagon rider, unless I was jumping on the sinking ship of a 30 year old tennis player, lol...
