OK, if some day we meet, I will let you pick up the tab.

Unlikely we'll ever meet but if do, I"ll happily pick up the tab.

Btw, one of my Exs was still finishing his school while I already got a job and when we went out, I always picked up the tab.

Edit: Actually it would be after the start of the lockdowns/quarantines.

And how/why?

In my case: No. Though the strict quarantines measures are over in my area, and you can go out under some restrictions, I only play at my tennis club, and it is still closed.
Coupled with a nagging injury.

Also, in which ways has your playing activity changed so far?

By nagging injury do you mean your wife asked you over and over to fix something ... and when you finally did you hurt yourself?

Hit today for an hour. Mid-80s, sunny, wind at 4 MPH and not too humid.

It was glorious.

Other courts were empty. Just a couple of basketball players - only four of us in the recreation grounds area (tennis, basketball, football field, 1/4 mile track).

This is a tennis forum. Go out and play tennis!

Soule found an equal number of men and women nag; however, studies have shown that women are more likely to nag both men and women, while men are more likely to nag only men.
Soule (who’s this?) does not have a clue.

"But women are more likely to nag, experts say, largely because they are conditioned to feel more responsible for managing home and family life. And they tend to be more sensitive to early signs of problems in a relationship."

In other words, men are lazy when it comes to household stuff. Or not as responsible. If women nag then it's the men who are causing it, in other words.

I've been playing a lot and find the opposite problem. Lots of people want to play but the public courts are packed almost all the time with long lines of people waiting.
Ditto in this area (SF Bay area -- south bay and peninsula). With fitness gyms still closed and indoor sports facilities (volleyball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, etc) closed, outdoor sports have enjoyed a renewed popularity.

The courts that I frequent (in Santa Clara and Mountain View), have all their gates locked in the open position so that people are not touching the gates to enter and exit the court. My regular hitting partner and I wear a glove on our non-dominant hand. Use the gloved hand for handling tennis balls, baskets and pickup tube.

Btw, do you like emoticons? Have never seen you using one.
Not a huge fan myself. I rarely employ emojis or emoticons on the TT forum either. But do use them, at times, with texting. Almost never use LOL or variations. Any desire / urge that I might have had to use any of these, have been completely quashed by tennishabit.

Yes, tennishabit did do some considerable amount of damages there. Some of us may never recover from it.

Yes. (Naughty).

All sports federations closed due to Government measures, but, we didnt have complete lockdown, but curfews (5pm at first, 6pm, now 9pm), limited mobility (odd or even license plates on odd or even days for about a month), lockdown on Sundays.....

All clubs closed up, just a couple of rogue ones opened kind of secretly. Me and a bunch of tennis players always found a way to play, we went to a couple of worn-down courts that belonged to an evangelical mega-church, I know the tennis "pro" that worked them, so I got my gang in, we were playing regularly, but word got out apparently, and other players started showing up...... then, shut down. The church's council decided to close, they got nervous....

SO, we played here and there, we had a couple of friends from the group w courts at their house complex, we hit those...., then we found this one club that just went rogue and continued opening. I managed to get a great deal with the owners and eight of us joined temporarily (before that, we had to pay an hourly fee, but the club was half-dead, so he accepted our offer).

We're still playing there!

Its been awesome to have been able to stay active,a little bit on the down low, no "outsiders" allowed, a couple of positive cases even!

I'll tell you more some other time........ Stay Safe!!!!!

I have been playing between 3 to 5 days a week for the past 2 months. I wear a mask went I pay for the court and when people are around. I don't the separate balls thing but I use hand sanitizer. I do miss playing league but I read online that the USTA, Southern California may have tri-level single league. That may be worth looking into.

After talking a big game about how much tennis I was playing, we are back to no tennis again here now.

Hard lockdown for 6 weeks as a state of disaster has been declared where I live.

Not ideal, but the greater good calls for it, and it's a very small sacrifice to make.

Good luck to those getting back out there in other parts of the world.

Not good news.

I guess I should feel fortunate that infection rates are very low in my area. We are down to nine infections in my town of 28,000. I actually don't know whether or not the tennis courts in my town are open but they are in the next city over and that's where we play. We have been able to play but the courts are used by many others too.

I hope that your area gets their infection counts down quickly. I've seen many places where the infection numbers drop sharply six weeks after peaking.
