Help choosing racquets

To demo, as i don't have a big selection near me to demo, or that much money to spend demoing
I'm a control oriented defensive baseliner and i prefer a manueverable racquet...
I've been looking at a couple Head, Yonex, and Volkl racquets, and i need to choose 4 to demo.

For Head i'm looking at
MG Prestige Mid
MG Prestige MP
maybe LM Prestige Mid

Yonex:
Any of the RDS's on here. I cannot make any decisions. Also, i don't know much about the new 08 RDS's

Volkl:
DNX 7
DNX 9
maybe DNX 10

or any racquets you might have to recommend.

Thanks.

I hear its essentially a lighter version of the 10, which supposeldy hits really well. Is that true? The 10 is a little heavy for me though.

My friend has one, i could give it a try. But i just want to narrow down to 4 to demo soon, after all, high school tennis season is rather short T_T

I think the Yonex industry is made for counter punchers i mean loko at their successorsa Martina and Lleyton both counter punchers. I say try the RDS002 tour and the RDS001 MP.

From that list I would go with the MG Prestige MP. If it was any racket I would go with the Aeropro Drive Cortex Plus.

Well i guess ill just demo it than, seeing as i can't use my friends all the time.

One thing though...the demo for 3/8 shows that it should have come in 1/22/08...so yea...its been two months since it was supposed to come back...
Should i just demo the 1/2? 1/2 is too big for me though.

what is your playing level? got any videos?

are you advanced enough to play with mids? (accuracy, full swing, consistency etc.)

My playing level is probably like 3.0 haha. I have correct technique and full swing and i'm fairly accurate, but consistency....not so much.

hmm..whats keeping you from being consistent? not practicing enough? not enough repetitive motions?

maybe its' your fitness? are you sure you have correct technique from the positioning of the body/ stroke/ grips?

if you're 3.0 or even 3.5, I wouldn't recommend any of those racquets that you mentioned above. You need a lighter racquet with bigger sweetspot/bigger head so that you can practice with those.

if you wanna stick with smaller sized midplus frame (don't choose a mid size), then I would highly recommend... a Head microgel Radical TEAM. light, big sweetspot, tons of spin potential (tons)...and you can bang away with it.

not for hitting against much better players with really heavy shots though..

Well it is just for demoing...my racquet right now is quite light so i'm just trying to get a feel for other racquets as well. Which is why i'd probably demo 1 heavy racquet, then the rest around 11oz.
As for my consistency? Probably lack of practice. I made our school team this year but i don't take lessons as my family isn't in the financial position to take it. Not to say our school team sucks (we have a large school and have been WPIAL champs quite a few times), but i just don't play as much as i'd like to.

Haha, my current racquet is the old Liquidmetal 1, 9.6oz. Too light for me now. I can't return serves for crap against anyone with a semi-powerful serve. I love the racquet but its just too light. My dad got me some Dunlop asian racquet, the Tour Elite 265, which is like 10.something oz and a midplus and i like it a lot better than my Liquidmetal 1. But the quality of the Dunlop is highly questionable.

Anyways...leading up racquet...that would be a lot of leading.

Back onto demoing, i was thinking about these racquets for demoing, they are all around the 11oz range.
One thing i really dont like though...why the hell isn't there a demo option for the Yonex RDS 002 (non-tour)?! I hear its nice and its much closer to my weight range but i can't demo the stupid thing.
-Yonex RDS 002 Tour (i'll get the lighter if i like it? Bad idea?)
-Babloat Aeropro Drive Cortex MP
-Volkl DNX 7 (but the 3/8 handle size has been out for over a month...should i try the larger size?) / DNX 9
-Head MG Prestige MP/MG Radical Tour

i would say do what you said demo three 11oz racquets and try out a prestige or or mid-midplus if you want to.
i got a 95 aerogel and i like it it is pretty stable and fun to hit with but still i have to play a whole lot harder than if i got a bigger head size.

so i would get a bunch of 11oz racquets-some i did demo were the microgel extreme which was very consistent and had spin but was very light and not very stable and i couldn't hit it back hard against my coach who hits with a lot of spin, and the microgel radical was kind of boardish. racquets i wish i demoed were the speedport black, speedport tour and the babolat pure+aero drive because i've never tried them and everyone else has one.

so just do that if you like the prestiges make sure you try another set of demos trying out more players frames because you want to be positive what you got was what you wanted.

They only have 2 sizes, 1/2 and 3/8, and my grip size is probably a little bigger than 1/4, and waiting is not an option...i plan on ordering tomorrow so help is appreciated.
