--I mostly play from the baseline, I have a decent serve, and use a one handed back hand.

I am currently using a pro staff 6.0 95. I want to have two of the same racquet just incase strings break during a match. I haven't been playing a long time but my tai chi practices have helped me alot in unifiying my body movements and correcting my form. I really don't have much of a problem using the 6.0 95 and was wondering if I should purchase an 85. I've read alot of reviews and it seems like the majority of people like the 85 better, even though it is more demanding (in the long run it is better for your game?). Any information comparing the two would be a great help. Thanks in advance :)

Agree with Kirko, you won't really know til you try them, but a few thoughts:

the 85 has mystical properties, venerated weapon of the ancient masters, etc, and when you hit the ball just right there's nothing like it.

However the 95 is also a fine racquet; if you're not Pete or Roger and winning tennis points is at all important to you, then the 95 or most any other frame currently on the market is considerably easier to use. It's up to you -- if perfection in the chi of tennis is your goal there are even smaller-headed historical marvels like the Head XRC. Purists like our own Deuce swear by them. For further information read the archives.

as a compromise why not pick up a used 85 somewhere, try it for a while, and see what it does for you?

Ya, I'm thinking of getting a used one, but I don't know a reliable source for them. And i didnt really want to demo the racquet for 15$, it just wouldn't fly with my parents :)

15 dollars for a demo? That's just pocket thievery! I hope they subtract that from the purchase price of any racquet

Look on the classifieds, auction site, or Tennis 4 All -- or else post in the Wanted section here. You should be able to find one for under $50 with shipping.
