I'm enjoying this. Bartoli's hitting is incredibly accurate, she's making Henin run from one end of the court to the other constantly and that last drop shot was beautiful.

i'm in complete shock. the only thing that will make bartoli's win worth it is if she smokes venus. holy cow. :shock:

Well, she did it. And she didn't choke serving it out either, so maybe we'll have a bit of a match tomorrow.

f! I can't believe that meatball played god tennis from the 2nd set on. Seldom got error, and angles here and there. And Henin just played so defensively and always hit the ball right at her, or hit right to the center.

Now Venus will kill her in the final.

I honestly don't know what to say?

We're going to get an onslaught of "women's tennis is crap" comments and people are going to attack Bartoli as being fat (yes, she could get in better shape), and I'm sure she'll become TWs new whipping-girl.

But, I have to give Bartoli props for coming back, not folding, and actually playing well, hitting out, hitting winners, minimizing errors. Justine helped, but I thought Bartoli played great in the second and third sets.

Hopefully she'll keep it up so that the final is competitive. But, Venus will like this matchup.

So Bartoli didn't like the breadstick Henin served her in the first set and gave it back.

Why is Bartoli beating Henin proof that women's tennis is sh!te? At least here you get some surprises, that's refreshing.

It's pretty common to have a mental letdown after you beat someone you aren't supposed to beat. My prediction, Bartoli plays horribly in the finals and we watch her crash and burn.

Awwwww, Bartoli said she was really nervous during the first set, then she saw Pierce Brosnan in the crowd, who is one of her faves, and thought she really should try to play better given that he's watching.
And she's just asked him to come back tomorrow, because he brings her luck. She seems to be a sweet kid.

I'm so happy that henin is out, i was startiing to get tired of her and she beating Serena preventing us to see a Williams finals.I'm happy:-D

I'm still shocked. :( I wanted Henin to complete the career slam. I never even heard of Bartoli until the semifinal match was announced.

Everyone I knew wrote off Bartoli, but after beating down Henin I'll have to think about making guesses about the Finals. Probably Venus, but if you beat Henin you certainly should have a chance against Venus.

You said it yourself. There are more surprises in women's tennis. Much less parity means more unpredictability. I love it!

Justin should have learnt her lessons last time losing to Serena after taking the 1st set. She played too defensively and where are her topspin backhand? where are the good angles?

But gotta damn admit that meatball played very well.

This is why i've never understood the whole "Henin is mentally tough" mantra. She crumbles, alot. Yes, she is perhaps the most talented of all the women currently on the WTA tour, but she is not one of the most mentally tough. Not even close.
