How awkward will it be to have over 10 years of "Fed is GOAT" commentary after Nadal retires?

Nadal will inevitably be known as the GOAT and win the most slams. He has stopped the "haha Rojer is the best, no" overly modest statements and just says stuff like, "we jas doan knoa who is da best player ever, no?" Nadal knows he can realistically be the GOAT.

It feels really strange. Federer being number 1 and Nadal being number 2 is ingrained in my mind but it will have to stop. We are going to see Federer's career from now onwards as his desperate attempt to hang on to GOAT status.

I wouldn’t worry about it because I don’t believe Nadal will catch Federer. I also don’t think it’s awkward when people were declaring Laver the goat during his time, because he’s deserved that title for what he had achieved. Same with Sampras when he became the slam king.
