How do you toss/release the ball so it falls near the baseline to hit a top-spin serve, and further into the court to hit a slice, or smash serve?

Currently I release the ball at about the same height, but change the tossing arm swing angle (starting from "in between" the legs) to accomondate both serves. But the toss is not consistent. The other way is to keep the swing angle the same, but release the ball at different heights. This also gives inconsistent toss.

Is there a better way? Many thanks.

Only "better" way is to hit thousands of serves with different tosses, so you find the one toss that works for the one serve to the one spot from the one court and remember/bookmark that toss.
Now go on to your other serves, remembering to bookmark each one.
Now when you hit a different serve, don't forget what you learned.
There is no shortcut or easy road to consistent tossing for each of your three basic different serves, served to 3 differnet location, from 2 different sides of your court.

There's currently a thread going that addresses some aspects of the toss - our pal jis started it up and when I just checked, it was still here on the first page of "Tips/Instruction". You might find some useful stuff in there in terms of the idea of lifting or pushing the ball up above your head instead of swinging your tossing arm up through an arc.
