How To Learn From The Classic Strokes Of Tennis Champions.

My first tip to you guys is this.

Do not listen to 90% of the people on this site, because they have no idea of what they are talking about as for as learning, developing and coaching tennis.

The next thing I will tell you is...

"Model your strokes after the classic ones that are out there now or have been out there in the past".

The reality of the situation is... the tennis coaching industry is at an all time low, so you should follow this plan that I am about to give YOU.

Start teaching yourself tennis, because with the videos and information that is out there now, you can do it better than any below average coach could or would!!! (real talk)

Here is a 3 step system for you my friend.

1) Model after the classice strokes of the pros.

Don't be intimidated either.

We all learn faster with mental pictures anyway, so make YouTube your new tennis coach and focus on the classic strokes.

Only watch them in slow-motion and do your shadow swings in slow-motion as well.

We will get into the techniques and mechanics in a moment.

But, this is what many tennis students don't know.

If done correctly, watching classic strokes and then doing shadow swings and then working the reps the right way, can allow you to develop any classic stroke in 2 weeks or less.

And these classic strokes give you the ability to hit with more consistency, accuracy and depth.

2) Classic strokes are simple to learn and can be quickly develop through video watching and modeling with shadow swings.

With this part of the system.

Don't make things complicated for yourself. (like many coaches do).

Just keep watching the videos daily and modeling what you see...

This is what I have found out in using this accelerating learning system when coaching many tennis students.

The moment my students can actually execute the classic stroke without the ball perfectly and with feeling, is the moment that they can actually do it on the court!!

3) Let the reps determine the mechanics and the techniques.

Okay, as for as the techniques and mechanics go.

Throw all that crap out the window and allow the reps to take care of it for you and focus on working and trusting in the process.

This is where coaching is at an all time low!!!

Many coaches will say to me, "Thomas, that doesn't make any sense".

And I always answer with... "Have you tried this system out yet"?

Then when they actually try it out for themselves, they see that it does work and it can make their coaching job a lot easier!! (Hell, even then, some of them, still won't admit that it works)

So, if you are getting ready to say the same thing in the comment section below...

"First try out this proven system for tennis students to teach themselves the game".

Let me give you an exmaple.

You follow the first two steps in this system and then you start in on the reps. You make every one count in practice, you keep adjusting after every one and you keep doing this in practice for 1 week, well what is going to happen eventually is this... the shape of the stroke, will start to take a form on it's own and you won't even notice it happening because you will be busy working the reps.

(Then, all you have to do is get out of your own way and let your subconscious mind work for and through you.)

I want to say this again to all tennis students that are frustrated with their game right now.

Don't keep wasting your money on the bad coaching that is out there!!

I just shared a proven successful learning method for any tennis student, that works for developing any classic stroke.

Now go out there and test it out and see for yourself!!!

All I ask from you is that.

You please keep me updating on your results.

So are you playing Division 1 college tennis, do you have a local ranking? Are you a recreational player or someone who just watches tennis on television. How did you come to this viewpoint, and why should we accept it?

It's worth considering that a genius level physicist could probably model and solve tennis in a couple days.

Now that I've said that, I get to sit back and watch people respond to things I've never said.

If a genius physicist 'solved' tennis, what does that mean? Would that be useful to people who play tennis. I remember reading, "the racquet face is flat, the ball is round, it goes where you point it", that pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?

Good plan Thomas! Can you suggest a few players past and present who would be good models?
Yeah, watch and model after Federer for all your strokes and Pete for the backhand, Volleys Stefan and also check out any one with a modern classic stroke... and start using the system today and keep me updated please...

Student: Coach... " how do i improve "?

Coach: "Just copy Federer, let me know how that works out. Do you want another lesson next week"?

omg this is a great tip. Just copy the pros!

I tried it and it worked!

I saw Almagro hit his bh where he kept the racquet going like a helicoptor:

Then I copied it! BH is amazing now:

BTW who did Federer copy?

Pete's my modern era favorite--Roger brought Edberg in to teach him how to volley to shorten the points in the twilight of his career. There's a great video called KINGS OF THE COURT that I watch often for "free" lessons, ten of the best players of all time : Budge, Vines, Tilden, Perry, La Coste, Saguera, Gonzalez, Laver, Riggs, Hoad--I think I got 'em all there, a beautiful video narrated by John Forsyth from archived footage salvaged from the L.A. Tennis Club that was going to be thrown into the dumpster.

Great point, the thing about Poncho was, during his time when he was a kid, minorities couldn't take tennis lessons, so he went to the clubs every day and watched the lessons from the side lines and then taught his self how to play, then how to become a champion!!!

It would mean that for every possible game state there would be a known optimal decision.

That's a big deal. It would be the most useful resource in tennis history.
