If you want the best action for spin wouldn't you do the mains a poly such as lux savage and you control strings like babolat nxt or vs gut in the crosses.

Also if this is the case can I string the poly in the mains at say 53 lbs and the multi in the crosses at 57 lbs. I was told that your mains should be strung tighter or the the same as the crosses

I am a little confused by your post. I think you say control strings like Babolat NXT... Wilson makes NXT if that is what you are ferring to. To me, the poly strings would have more control than the multi or gut, but would have less power and feel. The old adage is if you want your racquet to perform more like a racquet strung with gut, put the gut in the mains and the poly in the crosses. If you want it to feel like a poly with a little softer feel put the poly in the mains and gut/multi in the crosses. I think most people think that if you are going to put the poly in the mains, you are probably better off putting a synthetic gut or multi in the crosses rather than gut because you won't be getting enough out of the gut to justify its increased cost.

Hello all, new here.

I have the exact same question. I play a Wilson 6.1 PS 90 with Natural Gut. I need just a tad more spin, so why not put the "Spin String" in the mains? It makes zero sense to me to put them in the crosses.

Thanks for any answers.

I am not a technical expert, but my understanding that testing shows that use of gut mains and poly crosses produced at least as much spin as all poly and more than any other combination. In addition, you still get most of the feel and comfort you would expect from playing gut.
