How much moola $$$ did Bouchard get for her 2019 US Open appearance?
Looks like Bouchard can't even get past 1R in smallest of the smallest ITF tournaments. She just lost in 3 sets to a player no one probably heard of, ranked #272.
To be fair, Bouchard had a concussion at the 2016 U.S. Open, if she wrote a letter like this, U.S. Open management would be in a panic mode, thinking she now lost her mind too! LOL! Kind of like an extreme football head injury and motorcycle injury without helmet can cause.Don’t think it would be unreasonable for her to self-rate as a 4.5 at this point
“Dear USTA,
I have not won a match since February. I rarely keep three balls in a row in the court, have little to no footwork, and have no plan B if smacking one flat backhand down the line doesn’t automatically win me the point. Also, like most USTA women, I care more about fashion / matching outfits than the quality of my tennis. 4.5 please? Love, Genie”
Her ranking now exceeds the number of pages of this thread....which is where she should be!A bunch more points just came off the board, live ranking #220
130 points to defend by Aussie Open, if she fails to defend those she’ll be lower than #350
This is spiraling
Bouchard ranking is at an all time low of 220! This means only ITF tournaments and WTA qualifying rounds for 125K to 250K. No WTA International or Premier level tournaments. No GS qualifying either! Hopefully, Bouchard get some WC entries for beginning of 2020 to get her back not the 180s so she can doing WTA high level tournaments again.Well, the season’s over. She could play in the Houston 125K in a couple weeks, but she won’t.
Maybe follow Andy Murray’s path to Singles play even if Bouchard is not physical injured but maybe injured psychologically!Maybe Bouchard decided to focus on doubles from now on??

What the reason for the retirement?Genie retired down 1-2 in the first, that’s awfully quick.
Thanks!Left foot injury.
It's a fairly common illness among the young generation... it's called "noshitsgivenitis"What the reason for the retirement?
