If Stan wins AO17, then let us call it 'Big 5'

I vote for retiring the entire "Big" anything. It's played out.

It's like a nickname that none of your friends or family call you. It's not really a nickname then. Because it has no meaning for you.

This has 3 answers:

1. On the popular labels of the time, yes, since Federer & Nadal still have tremendous presence and it's catchy.
2. On realist terms, Wawrinka has won more Slams since his first than everyone except Djokovic. But calling it Big 2 isn't gonna fly.
3. It's really a transitional era with Cilic winning one and Wawrinka taking hold with Murray in the fold, so yeah.

Lol

Murray has been in 21 1000 series finals, Stan has been in 3..

Murray has been in 20 slam semis, Stan has just made his 8th.

Murray has been in contention for the big ones his whole career.

Stan has not.

Getting hot once a year for 3 years running makes you part of some elite group?
Murray has been in 11 GS finals and won 3. Stan has been in 3 GS finals and won 3.
