If you could go back to a particular 2-3 year span of tennis which years you would choose?

Would be fascinating to go back to Borg,Mcenroe, connor, lendl e.t.c years too never got the chance to see them live as a player on my tv

No contest: 80-82. Peak McEnroe, Borg, a Connors renaissance, Lendl and Wilander emerging, and players like Vilas and Gerulaitis still in the mix. On the women's side you had Navratilova finally figuring out her talent, Evert staring down Austin, Mandlikova emerging, a renaissance for Goolagong, BJK still playing well, and others like Pam Shriver

1) 79-81
2) 2009-2012 (skipping the obvious weak link in 2010 and to somewhat stick to the condition)
3) 88-90

Obviously, that is the Open era.

8-)

1985-1988, peak LENDL!!!!!!!

2006-2008 - Fed's peak years culminating in the sad but epic 2008 Wimby final followed by some (but not complete) vindication when he beats Murray in the USO final that year. Then fast forward to AO '17 for complete vindication / phoenix rising from the ashes.

if we can pick 3 separate years I'd go for 06, 09, 17.

You get Fedr's best year, 2006. But blocked on clay.

His highs and lows in 09 with the win in FO, but losses in AO and USO.

Then redemption in 17.

Then 2020 when he finally wins the Olympics.

2011-13 easily.

A lot of great matches between big4, wawrinka and delpo

2011-2013 in the the modern era 2000-2018. 2007-2009 would be a close 2nd
1993-1996 in the pre Homogezation but still somewhat modern days. 1989-1992 a close 2nd.
1984-1987 in the big racket none homegaztion affected era. 1980-1983 a close 2nd.

Can I make it a 4 year span?

2012-2016 (missing out 2014).

As great as those year's for Murray are I personally enjoyed watching watching him as much in some HC masters in 2008-10.

Would be fun to support him then because he was one of the least favorite players.

Maybe slightly OT but it's fascinating how many players collapse after their best year. Wilander, McEnroe, Djokovic (kinda, if you look at the non calendar year), Murray, all reached a top level then never won another slam.

Difference being that it was mostly mental burnout in the first 3 cases whereas Murray picked up a serious injury that ultimately required surgery.
