Interesting Fact about Nadal-Federer

The other day, it crossed my mind about how weird it is that Federer & Nadal have only played two matches on outdoor hard courts since 2005 - the year that Nadal became a force to be reckoned with.

Now think about this, the majority of the biggest tournaments are played on outdoor hard courts. There's the two Slams, Indian Wells, Miami, Canada and Cincinatti. That's not the majority, but that's 6/14 biggest tournaments in tennis.

Funny fact, no?

TBH most of that time Nadal has been world number 2, ergo he's been on the other side of the draw all that time, and given that his best is not on hardcourts, that's why the two haven't met many times on them.

And Fed sucked on hardcourts this year before the USO.

^he actually won a slam on hardcourts. can't say the same for others though..........i wonder if nadal would trade all his hardcourt wins for a single hc slam. LOL.

It has been 2 years since there last hard court match and this is utter crap because there H2H record would be more competetive if nadal played federer more on outdoor courts for the past two years. I mean since nadals emergence and even today nadals presence has not bothered federer in HC grand slams.

the rest of the season will tell if Fed´s USO title was a fluke. he sucked on hardcourts this year. he didnt play a final on hardcourts before the USO,how is he going to play Nadal?

ROFL did you know that Nadal leads Fed 2-1 on outdoor hardcourts? and the only time Fed won he almost lost in straight sets!

^It doesn't matter because Federer nearly lost in that one outdoors hardcourt win over Nadal!! Imagine that, he ALMOST lost! That's just as bad as losing!

The things you say are just downright funny (and by funny I mean stupid). Federer winning a grandslam you call a "fluke". It's not like he is some random grand slam winner who has just won one grand slam in his career.

People on this board are so in love with their favorite players that they truly become ignorant fans.

# Hard courts: Federer 3-2
# Clay courts: Nadal 9-1
# Grass courts: Federer 2-1

would the h2h be 12-6 in nadal's favor if they played most of those matches on hard and grass? no

Of course Nadal would trade it. Just like Fed would trade all his 4 Hamburg titles for a FO....
