Definitely, Federer would've won. He was in good enough form to repeat the same tactic from 2017 and beat Rafa today. Another occasion where Federer was not given the chance to get the likely win.

I agree. Federer is undisputed TTW champion in hypothetical matches.

There's nothing hypothetical here.

That cowardice is not officially booked in the stats doesn't mean that it wasn't displayed.

Nadal still lost to Federer this week. That's not hypothetical but a cold hard fact -- a fact that asterisks its way into any discussion about the fedal match-up moving forward.

What would the numbers be today, if updated? Not very complimentary to Nadal, I reckon.

What you can do is to go into the match section and note results of voting for each Federer-Nadal match. Declare a winner based on majority votes for each match and then declare TTW shoulda H2H between these 2 players.

What I don't understand about the original post is why it is formatted the way it is. Why is it not chronological? The tournaments going from top to bottom from last to first of the year by year, but the H2H tally progressing from top to bottom is a strange choice.

After that go to the Nadal News thread and do the same.

If you look at the ATP site's season summary, it lists the player's performance for each event, with the latest at the top of the page (at least this was so back then). I followed this in the interest of time.

After AO 12, I thought Federer would never beat Nadal again in slams unless Nadal declines much faster than Federer. Now I think Federer has solved Nadal problem with the bigger racquet and the new BH, so outside clay, I think Federer will beat Nadal 8-9 out of 10 times unless Federer has one of those old men's bad days or suddenly declines dramatically.
