Which must be frustrating for his fans. A WTF title could be the capstone for a GOAT career, but ATP Cup title will count for little in his legacy.I understand he wants to help Spain win the ATP cup but with his history of injury on hard courts and the AO coming up doesn't seem worth the risk for as much as he is playing. You can tell he really wants to win this way more than the WTF.

Lol. Most of Nadal fans don’t care about WTF at all, or even don’t view it as legitimate tournament.Which must be frustrating for his fans. A WTF title could be the capstone for a GOAT career, but ATP Cup title will count for little in his legacy.
eh the WTF is a joke and doesn't frustrate me that he won't ever win it. he was the only player to beat the winner this year and had one loss like all the other semi final opponents but he didn't make the semis. round robin exhos aren't a big deal as much as the ATP wants to make it out to be because it generates money for them.Which must be frustrating for his fans. The ATP cup can potentially be relevant for the legacy of Nadal or Djokovic, depending on how they win it. Obviously, if Nadal wins the ATP Cup after losing in singles to Djokovic, the title will not bring any glory to his personal resume.Which must be frustrating for his fans. If AO will implement a format where you can win a singles tournament with 2 losses during it, more so while someone with 1 loss won’t even make it through Round Robin, yes, it will be asterisked or excluded out of Big Tournaments conversation.that’s cute, next time you will ignore AO if you feel like Nadal doesn’t have enough of those?
Maybe, but he also feeds off confidence. Can you imagine if he beats Djoker? This could be a great thing for him, but if he gets injured we will all second guess it.
This also might be his last "hoorah" in a sense with team events. So he might just want to see it through.
If he wins AO we will say it was his confidence he gained in these events, and if not we will point to this as why.

Don't forget MC and Rome@StANDAA French Open is an EXHO
but if those rules benefitted Nadal, it would be alright no?
if only...
Rafa's last "hoorah" in a sense with team events will arrive after his ATP ranking goes down dramatically.
Wikipedia: ¤¤ The teams that participate in the ATP Cup are determined by the singles ranking of their best player. On the week after the US Open, 18 teams are announced, based on the best player singles ranking. For a country to qualify, it must have at least three players with ATP ranking, and two of them with singles ranking. The next six teams are announced the week of the ATP Finals. If the host does not qualify on the first deadline of September, it will be awarded a wild card, leaving only five spots for the November deadline.¤¤

Yeah, lets manipulate and put "=" between singles event and team event. How very convincing.Ned already lost in this tournament so theres an asterisk.

These team events doesn’t count into player’s title amount any way. So should WTF.Davis Cup also a team event but Ned fans act like he did that by himself. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
@Federer and Del Potro You should become a Nadal fan. It's never too late.
We all know you are a troll, no need to keep proving it again and again.Eh, I don't think he even cares about the AO after getting bludgeoned by Novak last year after some favourable match-ups in his draw. I think being so close to Roger with 19 Slams and winning again in New York has put his mind more at ease to concentrate on clay and secure that French Open this and next year.
Wimbledon is an EXHO.
Lol well that's awfully convenientLol. Most of Nadal fans don’t care about WTF at all, or even don’t view it as legitimate tournament.

Only because it was a team event it doesn't follow that all team players contributed the same. Nadal was the MVP of the Davis Cup 2019 for a reason. Nadal won the 2019 Davis Cup almost on his own, with minor contributions from Bautista Agut and the double partners.Davis Cup also a team event but Ned fans act like he did that by himself. Can't have your cake and eat it too.
I hope Ned wins a WTF so it elevates past EXHO status.

He does get tired, he just has super mental strenght and dont make error on key points when facing important points in a matchYes, he does. I honestly can't feel sorry for him if he loses early in AO. He should have learned something during the years. He is 33 years old, it is not the right time to have your shortest ever off season. I know Djokovic also plays, but Djokovic is a machine, he never gets tired.

It’s basically a dress up party on a dying surfaceWimbledon is an EXHO.

or if davydenko, dmitrov or zverev would win it. LOL. zverev can't even make it past the 1/4s in a slam but he has the almighty WTF!If AO will implement a format where you can win a singles tournament with 2 losses during it, more so while someone with 1 loss won’t even make it through Round Robin, yes, it will be asterisked or excluded out of Big Tournaments conversation.
