Is the Diabo Tour Mid better than the POG mid?

I am contemplating on which racquet to purchase as a volley/doubles racquet. I currently play with the POG OS and love it from the baseline and for singles. But does not have much mobility at the net. So, I either stick with the Mid version or go for the newer Diablo version. I like the feel of the POG on groundstrokes but I know the POG Mid and Diablo Mid are a bit more stiffer than my OS. Will that make a diff on the baseline and at the net? Also, I have an opportunity to get my hands on a Dunlop MW 200g. Is that too much of a change from my stick?
Any feedback?

The Diablo is a good racquet but its not as good as the net as the POG. It is too headlight and just feels awkward up there. If you do plan on getting the Diablo, lead up the 3 and 9 o clock postions to prevent twisting and torsion.

I've tried both and opted for the Diablo mid. YMMV. Everyone has their own personal preferences. A thousand votes for a racquet doesn't automatically mean it's the right one for you. Try both and see for yourself. Heck, try other racquets also just for comparison.

Both are great sticks. Obviously, the opinion of the user is most important (don't want to **** anyone off), but I like the Diablo mid better. A little less harsh, a slightly denser string pattern on a 93 sq inch head (16X20 v. 14x18), bigger sweetspot. Although the Diablo serves great (flat, slice, heavy spin), the POG mid serves slightly better in my opinion.

I'm an aggressive baseliner with a 2HBH, so my needs are probably different than yours. But, I do come to net on occastion and I do play a lot of doubles, so I can say that the Diablo mid is really good at the net. Very manueverable, very good control. But, there are other rackets I like better for volleying. I also like the grip better.

The specs are basically the same for both, so it really is a question of how they feel to you. Both, are relatively cheap compared to newer sticks.

If you can, demo both.

even though the pog mid has like a 66 stiffness rating on TW, it has a suprisingly REALLY flexy feel, its not stiff at all. There are practically no vibrations or anything that hurts the arm.

The diablo mid may be more forgiving and have around the same power as the OS. So if you want something near the OS's power level then get the diablo. But I say you should get the POG because it is more versatile everywhere.

From my experience the POG is hands down the better all around racquet, and has a much better feel. The diablo felt very muted.

But as others have pointed out, the best thing is to try and demo both, as each person is different.

Yes and No.

The POG Mid swings lighter (current models can be in the 310-320 range for swingweight) which makes it easer for the average player to use. Most will find it easier to use at net as it is more maneouvrable, however, for most highly skilled volleyers, the string pattern is too open. I preferred it on serve but only due to the lower swingweight - the Diablo, naturally, hits a heavier serve but the POG mid generates more spin. Off the ground it hits a good ball but not a heavy one.

The Diabolo Mid has more power, bigger sweetspot, is better at net and hits a heavier ball. However, it doesn't swing as easily and the feel might not be to everyone's taste (if you use a vibration dampner, a 'muted' feel is irrelevant). Hits a very heavy shot off the ground, moreso than the POG mid.

You just have to work out what is most important to you and which one you're able to use most effectively.
