Isospeed cream or TRU PRO (formerly Tier One Sports) ghost wire?

Last week I got a little sore elbow after playing with Pacific Poly Power Pro 16L (1.25) and Head RIP Control 17 (1.25) at 24/22 kg in my TC95 16x19 63RA.

I'm pretty sure this is due to the poly and that is why I'm looking for a more armfriendly poly than the Pacific PPP.

Up to now I'm considering Tier One Ghost Wire 16g (1.27) or IsoSpeed Cream 17g (1.28). Which one should I choose as hybrid with Head RIP Control 17?

From TWU and this thread about these strings I found the following data:

PropertyPacific Poly Power Pro 16L (1.25)IsoSpeed Cream 17 (1.28)Tier One Ghost Wire 16 (1.27)
MaterialPolyesterPolyesterPolyester
Stiffness (lb/in)180178188
Tension Loss (%)4728NA
Energy Return (%)8490NA
Spin Potential5.3NANA
String to String Friction (COF)0.088NANA
String to Ball Friction (COF)0.462NANA

Does anyone have experience with these ones in TC95 16x19?

A great string to look at is Cyber Flash, it is a really comfy old school no BS string. I play both Cream and GW but CF feels more crisp and crontrol oriented while being softer for the arm.

O, thanks! However I just already ordered one set of GW. Next time I'll try CF if I don't like GW.

Actually think cream is a better main than a cross. Has a tendency to fray.

Never considered it until reading your post, but Cream/GW might be a great hybrid.

@Gee, I doubt you'll be disappointed with GW crosses. They're some of the best I've hit with either shaped poly mains, gut, or multi. My son hits Multifeel/GW, and it's surprisingly good.

Are all these strings ratings based on the same reference tension? I say this because TWU gives you the option to see it at different tensions. The GW number uses the RSI tension number which I think is like 61lbs.

I was intended to string the GW 16 as mains with Head RIP Control 17 crosses.
Earlier I tried the Head RC mains with Pacific PPP crosses that didn't last long in my TC95 16x19.
That's why I have at the moment the PPP into the mains and the Head crosses.

The sore elbow is not really serious. I still am able to lift a cup of coffee ;-). However I am cautious and therefore looking for an (even more) armfriendlier poly than Pacific PPP. I hope that GW is the solution, otherwise I' ll try Topspin CF as @Happi suggested.

I really want to play with a poly because of their snap-back characterics as I dislike it when strings tend to move a lot. Besides the control of poly strings is much better. But,.... if my elbow doesn't like it I'll have to accept and play with multis solely.

Honestly I wasn't aware of the tension numbers but the numbers of Pacific PPP and Isospeed Cream are from the TWU table while I only found the stiffness of the GW at this forum.

If I remember correctly that GW stiffness is measured differently than TW's and you need to subtract about 8-10% as a rough average, so GW's 188 for 16G is probably closer to 170. For example Cyclone Tour 116G measured 200 on the same test as GW. So per the "lab tests" GW is actually softer that Cyclone Tour but real world can always feel different, but in any case it is a lab tests and one of the softer Poly's with very good tension maintenance.

I would only string GW in the crosses. Most aren't impressed by it in the mains or full bed. But it is an amazing cross.

Of the soft round polys I have only Topspin Cyber Blue. Is there someone who has played with both Topspin Cyber Blue and Ghostwire compare the two strings. I am mostly interested in Power, Durability and Tension Maintenance.

Thank You for your time.

Played with a Klip gut/GW hybrid 1.30 gauge at 60/51 yesterday, really like how it played. Super comfy and nice spin potential with good control. It should hold tension very well, if it does I will stay at current tension, if not I will bump it a bit as guy plays well and is still comfy into mid 60's at least. Strung in a 98s Blade

I actually think of Ghostwire as a cross between Cream and Wilson Revolve that results in a string that plays better than both. There is a rather unique, crisp feel on contact that makes it enjoyable to hit with literally any string in the mains.

Has anybody played with the hybrid Firewire Boost which has GW?
Firewire BOOST
Co-Poly/Co-Poly Hybrid

"Ultimate Spin Potential with added Control!"
The string package comes with 1/2 set of T1-Firewire (Rated #1 in Spin for 3 years) and 1/2 set of
Ghost Wire

I was about to post on this topic. I have been playing VS Gut/isospeed Cream 16L for about 2 years now at about 53/47.

A buddy of mine gave me a set of Ghostwire 17G and I was excited to try it. I upped the tension to 53/49 and I have to say I am pretty disappointed.

I am finding that the Ghostwire went away very quickly (In about 6 hours). I found it more lively (less dead) than Cream and a less slick surface for the gut leading to things locking up.

I am disappointed to say I am going to have to cut out the setup as I played tonight and it was gone.

This is good to know LOBALOT! I have some isospeed Cream on order with TW but they keep pushing out the date because its backordered. I guess they can't seem to order enough or isospeed can't keep up with the demand.

I really wanted to like Ghostwire. I really did. I just felt it was way too lively compared to Cream.

One of the best poly setups in my opinion! If you haven't already, you can check out this thread from one of the forum moderators - https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/mikelers-polys.373884/

TOS marketed GW as slick poly. Looks like it is not that slick.

Most people seem to use Ghostwire as a cross, but what are peoples experiences with it as a main? Say 18g with a 17 g OGSM as a cross?

Thank you for pointing this out. TW and USRSA lab data cannot be compared.
