It's a big day... Nadal's return and Djokovic's 1st match since USO!

Both matches are going to be very interesting...

How will Nadal play in his 1st match back, will it be at a high level? It's also against a quality opponent so it could be a test!

And how will Djokovic handle his 1st match since the USO disqualification? Will it be an easy routine match or will there be drama?

I know that some of you are still happy about Thiem and Zverev, but sorry it's not comparable! It's now time for the real thing!

Gonna be interesting to see if Djokovic will succeed in hitting the lines person again. I’m still thinking he may have hit the throat just by luck the other day. Even for him, it’s definitely a tricky shot.

He was leading Djokovic 6-5 up a break. He also made it to the SF and was close to winning that match. He has been playing some of his best tennis, so yeah for a 1st round opponent after 6 months of not playing, it's a very difficult draw.
If that’s true, then why would Kyrgios say he sucks rocks?

Interestingly, in his first interview after the incident, he claims he didn’t mean to hit the lineswoman, but for some strange reason thought Federer was standing behind him.

I gonna haff to play my best tennis, only this way I haff chances for win.
Pablo is gonna play hees best tennis which is uhhh....tough sitooashun no, but right now I am not going through any physicahl sitooashun like the first part of 2019 so I gonna prepare to suffer if I gonna haff a chance to win

Nadal will win but I think he'll be a bit rusty after 6+ months of no matches. Plus he's facing a decent player as his first match so while I expect Nadal will win, I doubt there'll be any baked goods involved.

Djokovic on the other hand will likely completely dominate his match.

How is it fair to have to play the 18th ranked player as the 2nd ranked player this early in a tournament? Especially someone that has knocked off the #1 ranked player recently?

Straightforward wins for both. Interesting week ahead. I wonder if we will get a Djokodal showdown here.
If we do would they go all out? Or maybe agree to play 1st set hard and whoever wins that cruises 2nd set. Back in the day at smaller events that occasionally happened just before a slam. I see no benefit for either in a 3 hour plus war on the eve of FO.

No way Djokovic will be willing to go further behind in the clay head to head and no way will Nadal be willing to have Djokovic encroach on his clay advantage. Both will go all out.

Djokovic and Murray went all out in Qatar in 2017. Both went out early at AO.

Nadal seemed to be serving softer in the first set, but was placing his serves a lot better.

Didn't watch the second but was impressed by the second breadstick. Expected a 6-4 or something in the second.

This result means nothing. PCB was never meant to seriously challenge Nadal on clay.
He appears, plays some games , collects the money and goes.
Why would he risk an injury after what happened at US Open.
The match that we need to see is the final.
Oh..and where is Diego Scwartchman

Nadal looked like he was on top of his game against PCB or maybe I had forgotten how dominant he looks on clay. Djokovic seemed to have more of a ‘meh’ workmanlike victory today against a really low-ranked player. I don’t know if PCB was jet-lagged or if he was having a bit of a letdown emotionally after a great run at the USO.
