ive been back with the speed MP lately (ltd. version with the cool paint). being reminded yet again that its just a little too flimsy. pure aero and tw warrior are same static weight, theyre just much more sturdy frames. downside being the thick beam construction that ... uh ... well, makes them more stable. its a conundrum.

The Graphene Speed MP was and still is the best version.

Hi Jack,

How would you compare the TW100 and TC100 (I recall you now have the RA70) in terms of comfort and feel. I tried out the TW100 briefly, but found it a bit uncomfortable. I played it stock if I remember correctly

Br, Flash

I find them both comfortable. They are both mid 60s stiffness ratings when strung, so they are similar in that respect. I think if you found one uncomfortable, it would be the same with the other.

So I decided to ditch the TC100 and I am now going exclusively with the TTWarrior 100. I have liked the Warrior every time out with it and it really has no weaknesses for me. The TC100 was a little up and down and ultimately felt too sluggish at times due to the weighty head feeling. So for now, it's just me and my Warrior :)

i am somewhere in between the speed LTD/MP, radical MP/MPA, and tex tour 100T. they're all pretty similar if im honest, and theres nothing 3.5 that they cant handle. other than the routine 4.0-4.5ish sandbaggers we get.

im interested in the new speed MP, to see if they improve the feel and stability just a bit.

The Graphene XT Speed and the LTD just don't compare to the Graphene Speed. The feel and stability took a big hit. Hope they can right the ship.

Jack, do you prefer the Textreme Warrior over the 100P for slices?

No....the 100P is excellent for slices and it keeps the ball low and close to the net. The Warrior has a more open pattern and you have to be careful
not to have the racquet too open or it will float slices back. I am trying to play with more topspin now and that's why I choose the Warrior.
Those low slices are great but they less you less margin for error.

Curious to know how it compares with the Tex Warrior 100

The Warrior beats the TC100 in every aspect IMO. No...no mods to my Warrior. I had 4 g's of lead at 3/9, but took them off when I added a heavier string (16g Prince Response)

I'm thinking of going down the 11oz route myself.

Such a range of racquets in the 11oz, 100sq head, 315SW category.

Half my problem is chopping and changing between different head size and weights of racquet, depending on my mood at the time, the I never really settle to get a satisfying level of consistency.

I need to be more disciplined (and realistic with myself). Settle on what is a fairly standard racquet spec these days and get consistent with it.

I recently tried a PD and an APD and couldn't believe how easy they were to play with. Not to the point I would ever want to sacrifice technique over ease, but to the point where decent technique with these types of racquet actually gave me a bit more.

I wasn't a fan of the feel of those two though. Not sure if it was the strings, but they just felt a bit odd.

I'm considering the Mantis 300 PS or maybe the Wilson Pro Open.

That's on my shortlist, but there's a few things that makes me lean towards the Mantis.

I know it's only an extra string, but I'd prefer a 16/19 over a 16/18.
The head shape on the Warrior is a bit rounder and I prefer the more oval shape of the Mantis.
The only real knock on the previous version of the Mantis was the stiffness. That was recognised and acknowledged by Mantis and this second version has a softer feel.

I do currently have a Prince racquet with a similar shape head and 16/18 string pattern, so I am going to see how I feel about the control element at the weekend.

The TXT Warrior does look a good racquet, so I don't want to dismiss it immediately, it's just that I do know what head shape and string pattern I like.

With the specs I am looking at, there is almost too many to choose from.

I also don't like round head shapes and 16x18s, but you quickly adjust to both and it's a non issue in no time.

yes, but not so difficult to use

DR100 is more easy and it's very nice all-round racket(perfect balance of power/spin/control/stability) but needs the right string and tension
What string and tension do you like?

JackB1,

I need your help.
I'm searching for a racquet and wan't to buy something from the Prince Textreme line. It will be Warrior 100, or 100p.
You have played both so i need your opinion which would be better for me. I'm a baseliner, grinder, rarely go to the net.
I would like to play my racquet in stock form, don't wan't to customize it. Recently I bought AeroPro Drive 2013 and I really dislike it. It is unplayable in stock form. No plowthrough, very unstable, and of course stiff (I have some shoulder issues). I've put overgrip and 2g of lead at 12h. Much much better but still stiff. Wha't I was thinking before purchasing AeroPro Drive???

It is strange that It is so unstable because I played with Head Microgel MP which is 295g unstrung. That stick is fantastic! For it's weight I couldn't belive how good it was in stock form. The feel is also great! Solid, stiff but different kind of stifness than AeroPro Drive. I't was not hurting my arm and the feedback I was getting was amazing!

So now I'm considering 100p and Warrior 100. I'm also tempted to buy tour 95 because I love precision from 95 inch frame.

Can you please give me your opinion about this frames :)

Many thanks in advance!

I would say go with the 100P. Its very versatile and appeals to almost anyone. The W100 is somewhat similar to the APD which you didn't like.

Jack, have you tried the new Pure Strike yet? We have similar tastes in racquets so I'm wondering what you think. I want to like it based on the glowing reviews, but so far I just don't.

I also just bought my son a Textreme Warrior 100L (he is 11 and a half, so this is his first full sized frame). I wouldn't normally play such a light frame myself but I'm sure I will give it a try. If nothing else, it looks fantastic! Too bad he will scrape it all over the court soon if his junior racquet is any indication. :)

Hey Jack.
Funny thing. I have been using the TW100 for about one month now. I had tried the 100p before that, but I can't seem to get away from open patterns.
In stock form the Tex w 100 hoop was a little unstable and head light. So I added some lead at 3 9 and 12 to. bring it to 11.55 oz. and that took away the instability. And it's still headlight enough.
Such a great stick. I love this textreme line.
And I'll give you credit. You were one of te first to call it.
So now I'll experiment with some strings. I'm using rom now. But I think I wanna change it up.

It's a great racquet. I just don't like the round shape. Power Player has used it on and off for a while. Maybe get his thoughts?

Just hit with it tonight! Played a match right off the bat after a bit of warmup and won 6-2 6-1. Last time I played this guy I won 2-6 7-6 6-1, so take from that what you will.

Once I got into the groove with the XT Extreme Pro, it was lights out. Forehands just a beauty. Serve will take some time to get used to the head shape, but it already serves better than my Super G 8 315. I love my Super G 8 315, but I think this will push it off my top stop.

The XT Extreme Pro feels like a beefed up PCG 100. EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Okay, honeymoon to end in 3, 2, 1...

don't know. just haven't been playing much tennis lately. I started playing pickleball and it really got me hooked!
its great to find other interesting sports. and hobbies.
but it sounds like you have given up tennis for pickleball.
i just want to say that is surely a mistake.
tennis should be the primary. and the others secondary.
theres nothing like tennis.

Pickleball? Didn't know about that sport. But when I googled it I could see what you're up to Jack:

Hi, i read there are TT warrior players hère. What string have you tested on this frame.
I have Hyper G at 51/47 lbs and i find great control and spin and even comfort. I had tried this string on a stiff racquet and it was awful on comfort, but on TT warrior it feels good.
Maybe i am going to try Tour bite or diamond rough.

It looks like JackB1 has retired from tennis.

Just goes to show that a new racket, whether it's a PT654.1 or whatever isn't going to magically turn you into a Safin.

Cyclone Tour 16g (only) - do NOT use CT in thinner gauges as it doesn't hold tension anywhere close to 16g.

In the spring / summer / fall, I use 57M/55X
In the winter, I use 55M/53X
