Kyrgios is a legendary loser

I know the story. Bret even kicked his azz for real backstage because HBK was a whiny bit*boy

Is it me or very few people has a somewhat not extreme point of view on Kyrgios? People seem to either hate him a lot, saying he s*cks, or if they don't they think he is ATG potential. IMO both takes are excessive in their own way
Yep. Agree here. It all is bias opinions.

He is both talented and not as talented as some say.

He cares a bit but not enough to actually try to get better.

He is the GOAT shizz talker doh. If he played half as hard as he ran his mouth, or his game was a single percentage as big as his ego, the guy would actually be a decent tennis player. Current status is part time tool with a racquet collecting checks for low hanging fruit.

my take on him is very mainstream. I think he's good but would be better with consistent practice and fitness training. I'm not sure he would win slams but he would do a hell of a lot better than he's been doing given that lots of the draw doesn't play grass tennis that well.

Kyrgios' response to his critics:

You need me, you need me.
Like a picture needs a star,
Like a golfer needs a par,
Like a teenager (ooo, ooo) needs a car,
You need me.

He is not a legendary loser or a legend in any way. He is a garden variety journeyman who is hanging around the top 50 in rankings while he has a big mouth and talks like he is a top 10 player.

And he was assigned the role of Djokovic stopper, slam after slam, just because he beat elbow-injured Djokovic twice!

He's symbolic of so much that has gone wrong in the modern world. People given prominence because of their Twitter and social media ramblings, rather than their achievements. It's sad to see it infesting tennis.

The funny thing is that Djokovic fans knew Kyrgios was just a clown. But many fans of other players didn't, and still don't.

I don't think he will care about your harsh comment, the dude has got how much money in his bank account? I think he can take a ball to the chest, bro.
A pity the money in his bank account didn't come from reaching the later stages of the tennis slams. Which you think would be the most important thing on a tennis forum. Maybe you should head over to a rich Twitter-celebrity forum and boast about Kyrgios's bank account details?

Isn’t it great for the sport of tennis for a player to get injured so a pack of Internet cyber bullies can take turns kicking him while he’s down???

OP is Bush League like his avatar’s beard and parrots his idol’s sour grapes after Kyrgios saved 3 MPs to win on his way to the Acapulco sombrero.

You were saying?
Nice straw man tactic. We’re talking about how an injured Kyrgios is still the target of cyber bullying 24 hours after an injury from an armchair analyst who self proclaims his altruism for the game. Just admit it…you love to flame on any player that The Nadal programs you to attack. You parroted his low-class presser at Acapulco’19 after losing to Nick and you’re still allowing Nick to live in that vacant space above your shoulders a day after he lost.

Pointing out that a tennis player is continually dumped out during the first week of slams is not cyber-bullying. It is stating a fact.

Borg tore a stomach muscle in the first round of Wimbledon in 1976 and played the whole tournament with painkilling injections -winning it. But I guess winning matches in the second week of slams is something Kyrgios will never have to concern himself with.

The most important thing for a tennis player is to enjoy their time while playing the sport and make a living out of it, not reaching semis/finals. That's your own twisted view of the sport. Maybe you should head over to a "living vicariously" forum and boast about other people's achievements.

How is Borg at all relevant? You have no way of comparing the two injuries. You're drawing conclusions without evidence.

That you persist at targeting him a day after his injury is cyber bullying, again proof you’re obsessed about Nick and more proof your agenda is NOT altruism for the game.

I’m done being exposed to your poison and I’m all out of kaopectate. (hits ignore button)

The guy knows his act is the only reason people talk about him. The way he carries himself is like someone who has won multiple GSs. His fans see him as one of those luxurious cars you marvel at but know it will crash and burned at some point.

He doesn’t even enjoy it. He has even said this. The guy got 115,000 just for reaching the 3rd round. The guy makes a mockery of the game with his shenanigans. I guess that’s his best way of getting attention knowing deep down he’s not good enough for anything or doesn’t care about anything about the sport.

Eh, he's fun to watch. One of the most talented to ever pick up a racquet.

Is there a prize for that?

...

The guy makes a decent living while having a blast. Only he knows if he wants/used to want something more. Other than that, he reminds me of a patient from House series who was a jerk because he was a jerk, not because he was ill. Kyrgios is Kyrgios. Pointless to psychoanalyze except for professional curiosity.

Fear of failure is there I guess, but he seems to have matured a bit, and while I don't believe his claims he seldom if ever trains, his talent is hard to deny. Not that he has no weaknesses, but if he put in more work and maybe worked on his focus a little bit, he would definitely make it further at the slams.

K's talent to performance translation ratio is low, so it's a question of our reaction to that fact. People do get absurdly emotional about his failures.

I love bad boys in tennis. The times when Nastase and Connors used to interact with the crowd or when McEnroe launched into one of his epic rages were a vital part of the golden age of tennis.

But each of those guys was a World #1, slam-winning, all-time great. They had the game and the winning mentality to back up the on-court antics.

Kyrgios, on the other hand, is like the kid in class who can't answer the questions in the test and so starts acting up to cover up his embarrassment. His whole act is an attempt to deflect from the fact that he is a serial loser, incapable of even reaching a semi-final in a slam, never mind winning them like the legendary bad boys of old.

His whole -I don't practice and would prefer to play 'Call of Duty"- shtick is a pathetic ploy to cover up the fact he couldn't win anything, even if he practised all the hours god sends. Again, he's like the kid who knows he can't achieve something and says "Hey, I didn't want to do it anyway!"

26 slam appearances and 24 exits before the quarter-finals is an embarrassment. You'd think he'd have the decency not to draw attention to himself with a record like that. When this chapter of tennis history is written he'll be lucky to be a footnote. The golden age of tennis had legendary bad boys like Mac, Jimbo and Nasty. We have Kyrgios, who is a legend all right: a legendary loser.

i won't mind if vanus falls in love w/ him and teaches him a thing or two :p
their mixed doubles partners hip should go outside court also . . .
