Just seen you are in the UK. B&Q or Wickes in that case. Homebase is rubbish. Wilson makes branded tape you can get in Europe but it's basically the same thing.

It's not as strange a question as you might think. Some definitely sticks better than others, I have had some come off but not others.

The Roddick part of the question however.....the mind boggles

depends on the weight you want... i use unique 1/4 inch stuff cause i have a thin frame and i dont need to much weight but it depends on what your lookin for

I just ordered the Babolat brand from TW ($3.99) this past week. I'll try to remember to report back on how it is... this will be my first attempt with lead.

babolat is my favorite since the weight per inch is heavier you dont have to use as much.i.e less overlapping

hey Cali the Unique tapes are very nice, I did an experiment with tape lately and they stick very well and even after layering for a while i took it off and placed it somewhere else and reused them and are perfect, but thats just my experience

3M makes the best lead tape hands down. It's extremely precise where 1 inch actually weighs .25 grams with no standard deviation. And the backside tape is very easy to peel off.

A product like lead tape that is 1) cheap, 2) fairly uniform from brand to brand, and 3) has relatively low gross revenues is probably made in one factory and stamped with various brands. Just doesn't pay for each brand to make their own.

fanboy, look at his setup.

tbh the only thing roddick about it is the stick and the mains, i've used tournagrip on my first 20 quid henman racket, then on my pure drive with the vibrakill, and then i upgraded to the newer heavier and longer stick. if thats how you feel then each to their own. but to be honest if your not gonna give anything constructive then why waste both our time?

I hear Wilson's karophite lead tape is pretty good, much better than the nCoded lead tape. Head's liquid metal lead tape just dripped all over the place on warm days.

I use Gamma lead tape, because you know, it can stop gamma rays, literally.

ok feedback. i prefer the 1/4 inch wide gamma reels, because it's the easiest to fit on my frames, which have thin beams. since you'er using the PDR, you could get away with the 1/2 inch, or even 3/4 inch. but on that frame, the swingweight and static weight are high enough that you probably DONT need the tape. if you add the tape at 3 and 9 like most people, it will be pretty tough to handle for most people

good?

thats cool thanks for that, i think i might make my racket a bit more head heavy but its something that can wait, i love my racket as it is right now.

cheers guys

it's just for weight. the end. i myself use magnetic strips with electric tape to keep it on. a lot cheaper for the frugal tennis player .

like a fischer m, cool. if you have them at 3 & 9, are the strips facing such that they attract to each other or push away?

Hi Origmarm,

Any help you can give would be much appreciated :)
