Low Priced Natural Gut

I'm thinking about doing a hybrid of a cheap natural gut on the cross and either a Luxilon Big Banger or Solinco Tour Bite for the mains.

What Natural Gut string that comes in a half set is best for its price. I'm not willing to go more than $15 for a half set of natural gut.

I use Titan 17g in the crosses for a friend I string for. He uses 18g kevlar mains @ 60lbs & the Titan 17g @ 64lbs in a Microgel Radical (18x20).

I've never had a problem w/ the gut snapping at that tension, and it lasts pretty long for him, even on clay.

I'd look at pacific classic. I'm liking it so far.

$15 should even buy you a 1/2 set of bab tonic.
The textured, ie hex or barb copoly may rip thru the natural faster than a smooth hybrid main string

$15/half set gets you a number of pretty good guts. Klip Legend (all versions), Tonic, Pacific (Classic, Prime), etc. You could also go for the lesser known brands (performaxx- I have no experience w/ them but have read good reviews, gaucho/global- not high quality stuff, but $15 nets you a full set, Titan- little bit iffy, but no more so than global).

It ends up depending on what you're looking for. Again, at $15 a half set you have a large number of options.
