Low tension poly - whats the best?

I'm really willing to try some real low tension poly full bed. Why? I'm old (47) need a bit of help with power but like the feel and control/Spin of poly...

I'm talking low tension like around 15-18kg (33-38lbs)

What the best polys to try for that? Round? Shaped? I guess great tension maintenance is key so I was thinking 4G?!

What are your experience with low tension poly... not Mannarino low but decently low

LTec Paradox
Black Code 4S

Any other suggestion?

As a background I currently play with Tecnifibre TFight 300 RS and ISO strung with tecnifibre HDMX or a hybrid (Solinco Vanquish mains /Ice Code crosses)

thick low powered poly. Round or shape doesnt matter. I like it but I can't do it in matches because my muscle memory is used to mid tension.

Just use whatever poly you have right now first.

@Casper777 What are you hoping to achieve going from HDMX to a poly?

I recently tried MSV Swift 1.25 black @ 18kg in TFight 300 Isoflex and it is really good. Before it I've used to play Poly Tour REV/Poly Tour Strike @ 23 or 22kg

Well basically durability and cost effectiveness... In a tight string pattern HDMX is nice, but in my current TF TFight 300, it frays massively after 1 hour of intense play after 3 hours it's a mess and I doubt it will pass the 5 hour mark. For the price of this string I guess another comfortable solution could be found haha

22kg is not what I consider low tension for poly, especially Polytour Rev.. that's actually my max tension for any poly. (except wasabi and game changer at 23 because of the massive initial tension drop)

Of course, that's a high tension for me aswell that's why I tried 18kg. And I liked it.

Those new high-tech co-poly strings are really supposed to be played at 15-19kg @ rec level. Good comfort and good control aswell.

I've had good experiences playing low tension with Kirschbaum Orange 1.28mm.
I would string Orange at 11kg and play until it broke in about 10 hours.
Had a lot of good results during this time, the only questionable shot for me was my volleys.
Volleys become spongy at that tension, but nothing a little technical improvement can't fix.
I'll likely return to Orange in the future, only reason I'm not still playing it is I finished my reel and felt like I should try something else.

In a less extreme case, I also played a few stringbeds of Kirschbaum Max Power 1.30mm at 17kg.
Beautiful feeling stringbed, but I think I would have enjoyed 1.25mm more.

And on the other side of the spectrum...
I did not have a good time playing Yonex Poly Tour Air 1.25mm below 20kg.
While the first session was good, it lost all character by the second session.
In general I feel Yonex strings are always asking me to string them tighter, tighter, tighter.

@Casper777 If you don't mind a little extra effort in sourcing, try out a set or two of String Project Magic Red ... That may be just what you are looking for.

Hdmx comes even in 1.35mm. If you adore the string, try its thickest version before moving to other options.

Confidential plays well at low tensions. Still hurts my arm though even in the 30s.
