Just picked up a pair of these at the local Nike outlet!

The best part? They were $22. :p

They only had this pair, and luckily enough it was in my size. I had to ask one of the Nike store workers to check in the back to see if there were any more Vapor 8's...she came out and said "I think you're going to be really happy with what we just found" and handed me these.

Nice find! Those are a 'sample' pair as well. Doesn't mean that they are any different from retail, unless they changed something from first samples until final production run, like they did for Nadal's 2010 wimbledon top.

Cheers!

How do you know that they're sample?

@Rhino: That makes me feel better indeed, my rule for shoes is always =<$100 :D

@PatrickT: congratz with the great deal again, these and the anthracite are probably the best looking Vapors in a while! And good luck with the fit too, I gotta go a full size down for a decent fit :-?

Thanks guys, I definitely got lucky.

Whats the deal with the sample shoes anyway? Are they rare/valuable/etc?

My local Nike outlet store (i.e. it's supposed to be cheap) has the Vapor 8 on sale for $115 so yes, you are lucky!

I think sample shoes are are only valuable if they are markedly different to the regular retail version. And even then it has to be a difference that people actually care about. For example someone here picked up a sample colorway with the RF logo which was only ever released with a regular Nike logo. That is a significant sample because Fed fans are obsessive.

picked up a Nike dri-fit featherlight @ TJ Maxx for $10. Lotta golf and Tiger Woods cap, so u have to sift through all of them.

Thrift store finds count?
Got Yonex sht 307's for 5$
Comfiest tennis shoes I have get worn. (after I washed them)
My teammate bought a Wilson Sting 2 for 5$ also.

Nice *breaksracquet!
Today I also got a PK Black Ace 98 for $5.40 and a PK Graphite Ace 110 w/ cover for 5$. Resisted the bronze ace because i couldnt see myself playing with it. Saw others but I limit myself (or I try to anyways). Also scored a Head Liquidmetal Duffle from '04 for 13$. Found 50 cents and a dampened in it. Lol

I saw a women's pair of Wilson Pro Staff Low Leather shoes around my women's size (LOL). http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_ProStaff_Leather_Low/descpageWSWILSON-WL.html

I didn't buy them though. They were a bit worn out around the edges. And at this point I don't think I need new tennis shoes till holes are in all my other shoes. But maybe I should get them. They're not as worn down as my Yonex's but my mom might get mad if I keep buying. If they're there next time I'll get them. Better stock up on shoes now then later. Am I right!?

I had never paid attention before yesterday, but I was in TJMaxx and found several pair of the same Thorlo socks that I frequently buy online for around $12 - $15 for $4.99/pair. The Thorlos were not displayed with all the other socks. They were off in a corner with some clearance stuff. Great find for me.

Today I strolled into Ross Dress for Less looking to buy some black dress shoes. And while I did leave the store with a dashing pair of Steve Madden dress shoes for only $35, that is not what this thread is about. I actually stumbled across a pair of Nike C.B. 3.3's in my size. What price you ask? Take a look at the pic......:)<br />

To those of you in the triangle area, get to the Gsmith on Glenwood immediately. I already got my haul – just bought a bunch of stuff and each item was $15. Adidas formotion shorts, a nike vneck top that nadal wore, etc.

Found these at the Houston Men's Clay Court Championships. Why did they have them? I don't know, but they were in my size, $65, and my favorite shoes ever. That same week I also got a pair of blue Courtballistec 3.3's for $68 (including shipping) from G-Smith.

I really do hate this thread - I visited my local TJ Maxx and Marshalls a bunch of times now......nothing...ever. Though TJM did have a few nicer Nike shirts - though nothing like I see here.

No GS around my area... :(.

I've a GS locally here, but they only carry golf equipment, nothing more.

Meanwhile, I noticed there are people here on the forum who found these great deals at local discount stores, not telling where they got it from, then turn around, jack up the price and make profit on e--bay...interesting...

I went to a Nike Factory Outlet store and they had ballistics 3.3 for like $30 and some lady bought about 30 pairs. I also went to the PUMA store and some lady bought like 50 pairs of various shoes. When they have blowouts like this, its probably cheaper for small retailers to stock up.
