OK so about 3-4 weeks ago I was doing some pushups and felt a little tweak in my right hand as I was pushing myself the from the ground up. Well I thought it would go away overnight and it didn't, I played tennis the following morning and i felt the pain.
I only feel the pain on the forehand. I'm a solid 5.0, one handed backhand, pretty fast serve, and the only time I feel a little bit of pain is on the forehand side, nowhere else.
So I took about 4-5 days off, no meds, felt it again, kept doing the same thing over again, taking 4-5 days off and trying to play but the pain continued, that was my mistake.
Last week I couldn't see my primary doc so I went to urgent care and the doc there played around with my hand and said 'yeah i don't think it's broken, my guess is tendonitis, stay away from weights and tennis for 2 weeks' so she gave me some anti inflammatory meds and and ace bandage.
I wasn't aware I could get tendonitis there, I thought it was just some kind of strain or maybe even a hairline fracture, but she said X rays not necessary.
It's been 1 week and I don't see the swelling going down, it doesn't hurt on regular use as it never did, only in tennis and pushups but i have not done those in 2 weeks now, could this be tendonitis or should i try to see my regular doc?
Anyone ever have this? If so what did you do? Or any thoughts? thanks
Here is my left hand for comparison, nothing wrong with this one
