Luxilon Natural Gut String = Wilson Natural Gut string

I just noticed the Luxilon Natural Gut String 1.25mm package that I purchased from TW last year right after black Friday when it was 40%. On the back of the package, it has a big "W" wilson logo sticker. I only see this on all the 1.25mm package but not the 1.30mm package. Does it mean the 1.25mm Luxilon NG string is the same as Wilson NG?

The luxilon company is a subsidiary of wilson, but i have only tried lux gut, not sure if they play the same

No, Luxilon is distributed by Wilson in the United States but is an independent company headquartered in Belgium. At one point, Wilson's branded natural gut was made by Babolat. Wilson may have ended that relationship and is rebranding Luxilon natural gut. I do not know for sure. There are very few manufacturers of natural gut (or tennis string) in the world. One of the largest manufacturers is Gosen. They used to make a large portion of the Prince lineup.

Lux now makes gut for Wilson, and has been for a while. The Lux gut has more coating for added durability for hybrid stringing compared to the Wilson gut.That is why you see a small green mark in the middle of the Lux Gut to make it more convenient to cut it in the middle.The 2 guts are different.

I've gotten 9 packages of Luxilon gut from TW now and the string inside the package were Wilson Gut

The coating is more durable with the Lux NG. The feel of the string beds are different too at the same ref tension, etc. If you do a search, when Bab went to their BT7 process for making NG, Wilson went to Luxilon.

D&D - you should be asking TW why you received Wilson NG when you ordered Lux NG. It could be the packaging is incorrect or it could be a mis-labled string. But you should have it clarified because there is a slight price difference.

When I contacted them on the phone, I was given a refund bc of pricing. The only "explanation" I got was that they are manufactured in the same facility. I'm not sure if the packaging is incorrect or the strings are mis-labeled. After sending 4/5 of the 1st order back and receiving another 4 packs with Wilson gut inside Luxilon packaging, I just decided to use them.
Also contacted Wilson/Luxilon and they were no help at all. Just told me to contact TW.

Mistakes like this can only happen at the factory or manufacturer. TW can only do so much without having to check every NG package they have from Wilson or Lux. I guess this is another example of how QC works with Wilson.

I had two sets of Lux gut strung in old school frames with an open 16x19 pattern. The stringer said they didn’t enjoy the experience — too hard of a coating and an unruly string to work with, compared to other guts and regular strings. Hadn’t heard such complaints about Klip. Feel wise, Lux wasn’t superior to Klip, IME. Haven’t broken them yet, so can’t comment on durability.

I cannot agree with that. Lux gut coating makes the string less chance of kinking the string, making it one of the easier Nat gut strings to string.
Kinking gut is one of the worse things a stringer can do to that string. Lux gut is almost kink proof.
Most likely your stringer was giving you a line, or does not have experience stringing other Nat gut strings.

The Luxilon is very crisp and lasts very long. Much longer than multi filaments. Until the coating starts to wear off it is not comfortable.
