Marcelo Rios: The First South American No. 1

It makes no sense. It's a fake.
The real first south american n°1 is Vilas, even if ATP refuses to recognize that fact.

Legend. One of my favourite players ever, it is a real pity he never managed to win a slam, he had so much clarity on the court.

You're an idiot. Reaching #1 is an incredible accomplishment and very few have done it. He will be remembered for doing that as well as his great game that many appreciate. As for his loss at the AO, he was beaten by Korda who was doping so who knows what the outcome would have been if he was clean.

I think you need to wake up.

To say such a thing implies that you believe anti-doping policy and governance is effective and non-corrupt, which is laughable.

Anyway, it is a lie indeed as Guillermo Villas was screwed over.

Rios, one of my favourite players. Interesting character and style. Never seen anyone like him before or after.

I think it's you that needs to wake up. Korda never tested positive until the year he got a slam title. A little coincidental ya think?

I understand and sympathise with the argument for Vilas but the fact remains that Rios was the first to be officially recognised.

You are a true diplomat, Mainad.

In my humble opinion, no man or woman should be allowed in the No 1 position until they have won a slam.
