Most similar (cheap) string to natural gut.

I think that maybe it is a very difficult question, and I don't use natural strings or multifilament, but I am stringer here in Spain and there are people who are looking for something which can be more less similar to natural gut being cheaper.
I am registered in Stringforum, and people around the world love hibrid strings, but here in Spain is very difficult that a player uses it.
I think that hibrid strings can be very useful at all levels if we know what strings we could combinate.

Gamma Live Wire Professional, comes in 16,17,18 gages and 16g Professional Spin. It has been on the market for years, is very, very good but not cheap at about 20.00 in the US. Tecnifibre, X-One Biphase is also very good at about the same price, both are considered multifilament. I don’t know of a cheap string that is similar to natural gut.

Watch out for the holiday sale this time of the year. Some priced multis like NXT, Nrg2, Biphase go on some kind of sale. Prince also offers some good multis.

Good 'name brand' NG is relatively expensive compared to all other racquet strings. There is no replacement if you are using NG. All others suffer tension loss, feel, power, etc compared to NG. If you can afford it and like NG, don't bother looking for something other than NG. If you can't afford it, go with either the softest multi, or the most powerful multi, or the most durable multi.

Natural gut (especially before stiffened recently) had a feel that was impossible to replicate - soft, yet crisp and dynamic. Like an ex-Davis Cupper once told me -" There is gut and not gut..."
You can cut the cost in half with gut mains and syn gut crosses. That has been a hybrid that has been in use for many, many years. Plays very well - play it myself.
Good advice on multis above... I like Gosen multis - reasonable and very good performers...

cheapest gut i could find... still soft...
i was experimenting with hybrid (gut main, poly cross)
doesn't seem to play as well as the babolat, or wilson gut hybrids (but good/close enough)

ultimately abandoned it, as it wasn't helping my golfer's elbow issue (likely just a technique/overuse issue)

I have been using the Klip mains, poly cross setup for awhile. I am not a string breaker, and it works darned well for me, both at higher and lower tensions.

I like Klip Legend and the Legend Uncoated. I did not care for the Armor Pro. It had a "plasticky" feel to me.

VCT 16g mains with smooth thin round crosses is quite similar to gut/poly if you string it about 10 lbs lower. Also, Prince premier touch is quite close to gut in terms of feel but playability duration is not as great. Tonic is great value for gut...only knock is the inconsistency in gauge.
