Just wondering which player has entered and played in the most ATP tournaments in one calendar year?

In 2015, the player who has entered the most tournaments (not including this week) is Sergiy Stakhovsky with 21 tournaments.

It would have to be Vilas in '77, off the top of my head. That's the year he won 120 matches or so. I'll do a search for the particulars.

Staks has played 19 ATP/slam tourneys and two Challengers. He has a good chance to surpass Vilas' total of 31 ATP/slams in '77 but Vilas won 16 tourneys and was 130-15 in his matches, something no one even dreams of achieving any more. He also played a few other non-sanctioned events for a total record of 145-15 that year.

I'm sure some lower ranked players played 35 + events, losing in 1st round often gives you the chance to play more. Looks like kafelnikov and davydenko have years where they played 32.
