Murray To Play At Mickey Mouse Event

Likely his return, as his chances of being fit for Aussie Open are slim at best.

Andy Murray will play at the Open Sud de France in Montpellier in February. The ATP 250 event takes place between 3 and 10 February, one week after the Australian Open. Britain's former world number one ended his 2018 season early in September, having only played 12 matches after returning from hip surgery in June. He said he wanted to get "in the best shape possible for the beginning of the 2019 season" and "get back competing for the biggest tournaments". Murray, 31, is expected to play at the Australian Open in January. and the Scot has already announced he will be playing in the Brisbane International earlier that month.

This just means Murray doesn't blindly assume he'll be going deep in Slams.

Really he needs to get that top 100 position back first

Muzziah’s master plan to win Wimby’21 starts here...everyone knows on that on the heels of Petros’ third successive title at Montpellier in 1993 he broke through to snag his first SW19 title.

Also, someone (or two more accurately) must stop Gas-K’s run of six consecutive finals at Mickeypellier, non?

Andy should he praised for this. If Agassi and Kei could play Challengers, then Andy can play a 250.

More young players should do this. For instance, Shapo stated his goal was to win an ATP event in 2018. Well, he didn’t come close, but he played almost all 500’s and 1000’s. Had he played mostly 250’s, he possibly could have nailed down a tournament by now.

He's currently ranked #263 in the world and has had zero match practice since Shenzhen. He's got to start slowly and build up some confidence and some ranking points before he can begin to think about competing for the big titles again. Playing 250s is an excellent and obvious way to ease himself back in. He's not going to recover his top form overnight.

Incidentally, he is a former champion in Marseille winning the title there exactly 10 years ago so it may just have happy memories for him when he was last trying to make a breakthrough.

Maybe Murrovic exho if somebody pulls out of final again?

#sorrynotsorry

Somebody has an incredibly rich history of retiring/ pulling out.

Would be fun to see what Novak could do in a kilt, though.

Shapo played 9 of his 27 tournaments at 250 level, a healthy ratio.
