Exactly. It’s obvious that we’ve got 2 camps here. Fedal have always represented the establishment and are treated the best out of the whole tour. Other players are upset because they want good treatment for not just 2 players. What an surprise... Establishment people defending establishment...
It’s not about being united or not. Djokovic and others are unhappy with the ATP as an organization and want to start an organization of their own. Ironically they want to form a union, because right now the players aren’t united as a whole and therefore don’t stand strong as a football club for example does.
Djoker is still currently President of the Player Council.
Rafa and Fed need to show some respect to Djoker's decision.
Great news. Everyone is happy now. The lesser players must be overjoyed.Nice, they are tweeting, everything is solved now. Kudos to both.
I can tell you’re into fascismDjoker is still currently President of the Player Council.
Rafa and Fed need to show some respect to Djoker's decision.
So that’s why this “Professional Tennis Players Association” only includes the top 500 singles and top 200 doubles players and does not include the WTA? Remember it was Federer and Nadal that wanted one governing body for both men and women.Exactly. It’s obvious that we’ve got 2 camps here. Fedal have always represented the establishment and are treated the best out of the whole tour. Other players are upset because they want good treatment for not just 2 players.
Why? What respect is he showing anyone else? And why announce this now, right before the US Open? He may end his career with more slams than the other two but he’ll never be as well liked.Djoker is still currently President of the Player Council.
Rafa and Fed need to show some respect to Djoker's decision.
Of course he does. We saw that in the Adria Open.I have no idea what is the right thing to do here , but you can count on Fedal to toe the company line no matter what. At least Djokovic has the rebellious streak in him.
Fed fans sure love talking in absolutes. Why? What respect is he showing anyone else? And why announce this now, right before the US Open? He may end his career with more slams than the other two but he’ll never be as well liked.

He knows what he's doing... Just won double golden masters... And yes, they were fast to stand behind corporation owners before see what is idea of their coleagues... Expected...Bye now...How stupid of them to not follow a guy who doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
If he does or says something stupid like the guy in your avatar constantly does, then no, we don't have to respect his decision.Djoker is still currently President of the Player Council.
Rafa and Fed need to show some respect to Djoker's decision.

This has to be pure trollery since the statement omits one salient fact: Federer and Nadal are the two greatest tennis players who ever played the game. Federer is also far and away the most popular player there's ever been. Why should a player who has never won anything like Donald Young be treated as well by fans, media or the world as Roger or Rafa? They earned their adulation. If other players are "upset," let them win 19 and 20 slams, then they can ante up.Fedal have always represented the establishment and are treated the best out of the whole tour. Other players are upset because they want good treatment for not just 2 players.

Is it me or is Djokovic getting a bit over confident thinking Federer may be done at slams and Nadal is not likely to play this season. Not sure he wants to poke the two bears. It is getting to the point where if he keeps poking them he will take pressure off both in respect of Slam race as they may take the view of stop djokovic rather than each other. Some of the comments both have made seem to suggest they are both quite relaxed where each other sits. Totally agree with your comments. Federer and Nadal, especially federer, have much more sway than Djokovic politically. Strange time for Djokovic to get into all this. This has to be pure trollery since the statement omits one salient fact: Federer and Nadal are the two greatest tennis players who ever played the game. If it aint broke dont fix it!The title of the thread should be "Nadal and Federer unite in crafting crap PC statements"
why is everyone so afraid to say what they're truly thinking? I'm totally with Djokovic here and his attitude towards the ********* too
Strawman made out of sheer nonsense. Lesser players don't want or expect fame, money and adulation of Rorafa. Just better treatment and higher pay. This has to be pure trollery since the statement omits one salient fact: Federer and Nadal are the two greatest tennis players who ever played the game. Nonsense, really? This was the remark I was responding to:Strawman made out of sheer nonsense. Lesser players don't want or expect fame, money and adulation of Rorafa. Just better treatment and higher pay.

Like that has anything to do with the subject. He knows what he's doing... Just won double golden masters... And yes, they were fast to stand behind corporation owners before see what is idea of their coleagues... Expected...Bye now...
It’s the second most likely.Ok i don't understand, Is unionizing bad? or is it because the person leading the charge makes it bad?
Perhaps not best put comment. Still, I don't think the point was to treat Lorenzi like Federer.Nonsense, really? This was the remark I was responding to:
"Fedal...are treated the best out of the whole tour. Other players are upset because they want good treatment for not just 2 players."
The original remark is the epitome of nonsense. If other players want higher pay, then earn it by winning events. Last time I checked, Fed managed to win 103 total titles, Nadal has won 85. Better treatment and higher pay always comes to the most successful people in their profession. Lower ranked players whining should choose a different line of work if they can't hang with it.
Ok, I'm sure he wouldn't mind letting someone else takes the lead as long as it's done. But the hypocrisy thoIt’s the second most likely.

You dont understand what is the issue here. Players demand bigger percentage of profits from ATP tournament, and rightfully so.Top players dont need it, but can show some solidarity and push Tiriac, Ellison and Co. to distribute more than 15% of revenues between players.Nonsense, really? Cats are away and the mice play. Here we are on the eve of the tournament nearly, during a pandemic right after a protest day...The whole move, from the level of transparency, to the communication between potential members, to the timing, stinks.
It is true that the better you are, the higher pay you'll get. Are you satisfied with the way money is divided between players currently? From what is often being said, it seems to me like if you're number 100 in tennis, you will struggle to get by, whereas if you're number 100 in sports like soccer or basketball you are basically a star player with much more than enough to get by. You can say that they are more popular sports but from what i've read, the players get around 15% to 20% of revenue depending on the tournament.Nonsense, really?
