Read my post above to @Hitman. Don't think his serve is 100%.
I only saw the highlights as well. Appeared to have a few routine service games after the first couple hiccup games serving. Tiebreak was a little shaky with a careless forehand that went wide. I give him a 8.5 out 10 :D. That's just going off highlights.

Highlights only show you what you wanna see though dude.

Gotta watch full matches to get a better picture and I am not as impressed/a little worried to be honest.

Dimitrov to win AO Haha. Actually I picked Dimi in the prediction thread. Obviously pulling for Roger. Just trying to keep my expectations sorta low. 2017 was awesome. As long as he's competitive, I'm happy with that.

I already said before I wouldn't be surprised if Dimitrov won the AO. But then again I wouldn't be surprised if he lost in the 3rd round or something.

He is very up and down. Reminds me of David Nalbandian very much.

Anybody who's watched Federer the last two matches on auto-pilot, and doesn't think he's the favorite has lost their mind! It's the first week and he's already approaching Wimbledon 2017 form. I don't matter who's in the tournament and whether they are 100% or not. On these quick courts and Roger hitting the ball like this it will be EXTREMELY difficult for anybody to take sets, never mind winning. Everything this year with Roger depends on his back. If the back holds up then he'll be extremely tough at every tournament he won last year besides Miami.

We do not know yet what the court conditions will be like in Melbourne.

Fed played really well against a swinging Khachanov . Match had plenty of long rallies and the venomous backhand of Fed was on display.

Hope Rafa’s camp watched and took notes . Cannot wait for another face off three weeks from now !!

From what I've made up from Moya's comments is that Rafa has to be LESS aggressive against Fed and actually resist as much as he can, forcing Fed to hit more shots than he made him in the last 3 matches. Was interesting to read, Moya thinks Rafa needs to keep being aggresive and be even more so against others, but not against Fed, because Fed can play that game better than Rafa

What does Moya mean, it's not like Rafa plays aggressive tennis against Fed. Traditionally he's just played his error-free game and waits for the Fed BH to implode. He'll play less aggressive now against Fed? Then that means he'll stand back 40 feet to return serve and just hit medium paced mid court balls?

Moya is insane if he thinks this will work against a healthy Fed.

Cilic:"Other things apart from their individual potential is their ability to adapt, specially Rafa. Over the years,we've seen so many changes in his technique. From serve to FH to now just adapting to different style from being little bit more aggressive"

Nadal plays aggressive tennis these days , and he still is a good defender
will be intresting when he plays fed , if they decide you know what , just be a wall

Nadal on HC will never be the wall he is on clay at 31.

Nadal beat down everyone in the 2017 roland garros if you didn't notice
he wasn't playing like he did 2005 and 2006
especially the semifinal , where he beat down Thiem as if he had to be somewhere in a hurry

same in the usopen and his road to aussie open final

just because he still can defend that does mean he isn't playing aggressive
at some point in a match you will need to defend

He is attempting to play more offensive tennis against Fed than he did in the past, playing less safe and therefore making too many errors. That is because he's being rushed by Fed which didn't use to be the case. If he can remain more patient and hit balls which are more difficult for Fed to attack upon he will be able to wear him down.

I have serious doubts about that approach. Federer has every shot in the book. He's gonna need some super shot placement.

Ok, I phrased it wrong. I meant that he will never be as much of a wall on HC as he is In clay, especially at 31.

In Moya's interview I recently read, he says maybe...

Thiem, Pouille, and Berd round out the eight-man field. $250K in the kitty, winner-take-all.

What's the thinking behind this event...? Anyone think the clock debuts here? The 10-second clock, that is. Gotta git 'er done in a day.

P.S. Lleyton Hewitt gets a crack at the quarter mil! If you thought he was retired, think again!

Is this tiebreaker 10s with 8 players a round Robin or a knockout

In Melbourne, it will be a knock out competition:
