Of course he's glad. Regardless of whether Nadal wins he's losing the number one ranking at the pinnacle of his career at age 25. This is major knock on his contention for GOAT. Pretty much eliminates him from contention.

Federer being in the final means Nadal holds on to number one, feels confident he will win a 6th RG (which he will) and now Djokovic has pulled out of queens, Nadal will most likely stay number one until hardcourt season when again Novak will have to do a lot of match winning in order to get the top spot.

Not this time......., he needs to rest more than he needs to play another tournament, he can go to the site and practice. You think Djokovic is going to lose first round of Wimbledon just bc he's skipping Queens? You have to know when to pick your spots sometimes, and Nadal has played more matches than anyone this year.

I agree with Mustard. Nadal is a rhythm player. Playing Queens will help Rafa on grass in the long run. Not that Rafa will flat out stink if he doesn't play Queens, or that Rafa isn't physically capable of playing well at Wimbledon without playing Queens....just that I think Rafa's mentality/psyche is based on match rhythm, and his internal confidence grows when he gets more match play in.

It wouldn't get ugly if people would just chill out. It's crazy how much vicarious living goes on here, from all sides. Federer can definitely win, I actually think this is his best chance to do so against Nadal in five years.

If Federer wins it's going to be weeks (months?) of endless trash talking and gloating. If Nadal wins, that will happen, though to a lesser extent. I don't understand why people can't just be cool. Too much anger and lameness around here.

I'm not sure why it will get ugly. Everyone and their mother knows Nadal is a bad match-up for Federer. Djokovic has proven that out this year. If Roger had a 2 hander or Nadal wasn't a lefty things might be different.

I actually enjoy the Fed/Djokovic rivalry better. Their matches are usually high quality and it's never a foregone conclusion who will win (regardless of surface).

That clash did happen at Wimbledon. It was close... for a set or so.

2011 Wimbledon was a watershed moment. It's easy to forget, but Nadal hadn't lost in Wimbledon to anyone but Federer since 2005!
