That will never happen and it shouldn’t...leaving out the second best team in a strong conference in favor of top dog in a bad conference is worse than the current shallow pool.

Make the commissioners in the Power 5 happy...add three at-large WCs to their champions and get on with it.

I didn’t see the Jacksonville Cocktail Party game but the numbers suggest it was a high quality game with Georgia needing 12/18 3rd down conversions to edge Florida 24-17. That’s a solid ratio against a quality defense.

Florida had a busted coverage in the middle of the 4th allowing a long TD. Barring that play, even losing time of possession by a ton they would have had a chance. It hurts to say but UGA looked like the better team. UF got lucky to lose by a TD. Zero turnovers and no big special teams plays so not one of the more exciting games in this series.

The two Stoops brothers. Bob Stoops has signed on as the XFL Dallas Renegades franchise HC but could be lured with a big contact. His younger brother Mark, who was FSU DC for three years, is HC at Kentucky and has had decent results in a stacked conference. I don’t think Mark leaves UK right away (they’re 4-4 despite injuries at QB) so they’ll lose valuable recruiting this year.

I don't see Venables leaving for a few years. His son Jake is a back up linebacker at Clemson and his son Tyler is a high school senior who will be on the team next year.

Penn State better not be looking ahead to OSU. They play undefeated Minnesota this Saturday. A win there in Minneapolis would probably increase the gap by raising their SOS while Clemson goes to NCSU (4-4 and beset with injuries).
